Yes, that is what I was getting at.

He was pictured in a Palace training top a few months ago.

Sauce FC would be in full swing with :

Zaha
Ayew
Benrahma
Eze
Batshuayi

If we can pull it off, we need to be aiming for top 10.

We saw at the end of last season that our aging Squad wasn’t up to it and relegation was a certainty with them this season.

Well you saw that, I saw that the same aging squad got 40+ points in 30 matches before the last 8.

Do people agree that the board have been successful for the club?
Their focus was on investing in the current squad - which kept us in the premier league, continuing the stream of revenue needed to build an established Premier League club.
Now that the current is good enough - they are investing in the future to continue the stream of quality coming through from the lower ranks. Making future investments cheaper as we can now afford to buy younger for a cheaper price.

I seem to remember last summer, alot of people wanted Hodgson and Parish/Freedman out. With the benefit of hindsight, are these people going to agree a bit of patience was all that was needed?

I think the facts are indisputable since the 2010 acquisition. After 3 years, a PL club with virtually no debt, and now about to embark on an 8th season in the PL. So, on those facts alone it certainly constitutes success in terms of the history of Palace.
That said, of course there have been some mistakes along the way as happens in any business. However, the strategy in this window has been clear and there seems to be a clear plan which is being implemented.
Personally, I don't think the past few windows were a disaster - look at last summer with McCarthy, Cahill and Ayew for minimal outlay. It was probably that conservatism that has allowed a more expansive approach this time around and credit to all involved - Hodgson, Freedman and Parish in particular.

LOL yes, that anyway (not aimed at you, I talk in general) I keep reading about this aging squad unable to carry on playing games.

Random match picked from transfermarkt, our loss against Villa in the middle of the bad run.

GK excluded as age is not so relevant we had:
Van Aanholt (29), Dann (33), Sakho (30), Ward (30)
Luka (29). Kouyate (30), McArthur (32), Wilf (27), Ayew (2, Benteke (29).

Surely we need to rejuvenate our team for the future sustainability of the club, but is that a team unable to play matches? 2 players over 30? That's a team in the peak of their ability in my opinion! 27 to 30 is the age where they all should peak!

What an exciting window this is turning out:

Ferguson - Completed
Eze - Completed
Batshuayi - Announcement in-coming
Gallagher - was completed but cancelled due to Batshuayi
BAS - In talks
Benrhama - Club in talks
Kotchup - Club in talks
Downes - Club in talks

No bids as of yet for Zaha - Everton have definitely not made any buds or moves yet.

Players to likely move on:

Wickham
Sakho
McCarthy
Sorloth

Attacking flair doesnt mean a thing without a solid defence. Im glad we are concetrating on flair but for Sat we have basically a back four who conceded shedloads of goals in the last 8 games

Your comments about Eze and Brewster baffle me. They have both completed seasons in the very competitive Championship and are young sought after prospects. I am baffled because you always give names of young players who have never played in England, as being the ideal signings for Palace.

How can this bafffle? They may be good players for their age, but none will have a 1st season in the PL offering as much as Zaha offers.

I spoke in the context that the only transfers left would be Zaha out and Brewster (or Osay Samuel) in.

Last season we were just 1 step away from relegation. Worst scoring team in the league. We are definitely relegation candidates with about 9 other teams (for 3 places) even if Zaha stays. With Zaha gone, we are frontrunners.

Zaha contributes to 10-20 goals per season (depending on his season). A 21 year old will contribute to 2-10 goals and given that this is what they did in the Championship, I wouldn't expect more from Eze or Brewster in the top league. We need to be patient with them. But also,if Zaha were to go, he should be replaced by someone at his level.

Brentford will be under no pressure to sell both Watkins and Benrahma, so I imagine they will want 25m+. I can't see us forking that out unless Wilf goes, but we can dream.

It doesn't really matter what you expect, what matters is what happens in reality which could be more or less. I trust the club's judgement over yours.

Why would anyone chose to be a Seagull? The Eagle is a far superior creature.

The Seagull lives under it's damp pier meekly looking out, blinded by the sheer quality of the Eagle's palace.

Why do people have to be negative, it’s been clear for a while that Palace needed more attacking minded players that can create as this has been an issue over the last few seasons.

Absolutely this means you could concede more but we have a solid back 5 when all fit.

It’s been a good window let’s get behind the club instead of keep trying to find fault.
