In the dreamworld of choosing between Benrahma and Sarr I would take Sarr all day long. I don't remember seeing a player with a turn of pace like his for a long time and with a PL season under his belt he'd be ready to go.

Both Brentford and Watford have already made big sales though so I doubt either are under any significant pressure to sell, meaning we'd probably be forced to pay top market price.

Brentford will turn a profit again this financial year, due to player sales, they will be ok, even with Covid.

Watford, however, are in serious trouble due to relegation. I think their income will half, and maybe worse than that as long as the lockdown continues. They need to sell, like Bournemouth.

This article bullet points it much better than I can.

The theme appears to be: Sarr ONLY if Wilf goes...

But would he come? Has he not been courted by the Champions and ECL football. It would certainly turn my head.

Benrahma perhaps not as good, but perhaps more realistic. But is he also not a Wilf replacement?

I would swap Wilf for Sarr because we would have a younger player who, for at least a season, wants to be here.

Having a good vibe is not to be dismissed.

Personally, I think Sarr has more goals and assists in him than Wilf too...although Wilf is better at carrying the ball forward, which matters to how we play. And Wilf can make a good team great, which maybe isn't the case for Sarr.

Wilf's passing range has massively improved alongside aspects of his game that have been perhaps more disappointing for a team like us.

If we have Batsuayi at a £20m option to buy I am okay with that (but no more). It's a lot of money and while he adds goals (could easily only get 14 or 15), I don't think he otherwise improves us. On the contrary.

I like the look of Downes, I really do. Straight in the first team. He'll get sent off quickly in the prem, and then adapt.

Finally, there's just something about the QPR winger that feels historically right.

Yala/Wilf
Wright/Bright
Eze/BOS

It's high time we plucked the soul out of QPR in revenge for the 1980s.

I don't think Zaha will be leaving which is great as his pre-season has been excellent.

No bids and Everton fans are just clutching at straws

I agree...I am just playing out scenarios where a bid comes in and it's enough to pay for Sarr. I would.

Yeah you actually said it on the 8th Sept two days ago but it’s hard keeping track isn’t it.

What u said many weeks ago was than Connor Gallagher was a done deal.

Then when the news broke that we were signing Bats on loan you said we’d changed our mind.

Both couldn’t be done deals two weeks ago could they? Because we can’t loan two players from one club.

So which is it? You’re so full of it.

Sarr would be an excellent replacement for Wilf, should he leave although I don't think he will now.

I'm not confident that Downes, if we bought him, would be good enough to go straight into the squad. I'd prefer to loan him out to a Championship club for half or a whole season.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Great news about Bats but I still think we need a backup striker, what happens if he gets injured.
