What’s the cut-off point for “starlets”?

Anybody who isn't Harry Kane!

I know the heading of this thread is signings but I note in terms of outgoings that Scott Dann is being linked with Fulham and Burnley.
I think he’s been a really good player for us and if true it would seem to be a business decision.
His contract ends this season and we’re unlikely to offer him a new one.
It’s possibly a last chance to realise a fee for him while at the same time reducing the wage bill.
It could also indicate that Kouyate is now seen as primarily a central defender with Riedewald seen a viable option in midfield.
If Benteke and Dann (and Meyer?) depart it certainly frees up the wage bill for further signings in attacking areas.

But leaves us horribly exposed at centre half. New Year after Tomkins and Cahill are hopefully match fit, yes. Now, no way.

It does but he is on big wages and 33 years old.

If a suitable bid came in, I think we'd have to take a look at it.

This is the window to refresh and reduce the average age, with players like Dann now sadly being part of the problem, in regards to long term.

I don't WANT him to go, but you could see why he could.

I thought Scott was out of contract?

I would like to think that was correct; however, it flies in the face of our previous few windows. Who would believe there was no Left back, for example?

A reality check is of course part of the palace supporters health warning, but while we are still in the window please allow us at least hope.

It's not ppssible to get both Sarr and keep Zaha at the same time. Would be great and make us Europa League position candidates, but it won't happen. Either/or. Sarr costs like 40 million. Club wouldn't have that money without letting Zaha go.

Like someone said above, if Zaha leaves without a similar value player coming in, then Eze, Batshuayi, or Brewster won't really mean the squad is better than last year. Younger yes. Better no.

Though if Sarr costs 40 million, if it were up to me, I'd ask Leverkusen about Moussa Diaby. Younger, stronger, able to play on more positions (right wing,.left wing, center forward, second striker).

Apparently they want 30 million for the.21 year old: [Link]

Woould be a real quality fit if Zaha leaves.

Some others below the price range of Ismaila Sarr are Raphinha of Rennes or David Neres of Ajax (but unsure after the injury) or Rashica of Werder.

On paper maybe but Zaha did naff all last season and any of the three you mention would provide more in terms of goals and assists in the remaining games than Zaha did last season. No point having a huge earning, quality player in the squad if he’s not performing on the pitch.

Scored 4, assisted 5 and was second in the squad overall, behind Jordan Ayew. Also did aome more on the pitch and was unlucky many times.

A year with a little less from his part, but he usually has 15-20 goals and asists combined per season from a winger position.

I fail to see how the other 3 (Bats, Eze, Brewster or whoever comes) will do that from a winger position. And if they play as center forwards, who will be that winger providing those 8-10 assists pernseason that Zaha usually provides?

Sure, we can have different opinions. You can predict that Eze will have a similar number of assists he had in his only decent Championship season by the age of 23, but I don't think so.

Things are hotting up, Palace still looking to close at least 2 Deals also may be a loan deal for Reiss Nelson from Arsenal.

We have 4 targets which are: Benrahma, Brewster, Edouard, Sarr

I am still expecting it to be Benrahma & Brewster.

Benteke looking likely to move on as are Innis, Wickham,

Remember deals can still be done with EFL Clubs 16th of October I believe so fringe players could still move on.

Could be an exciting final day window.

Brewster is Sheffield United bound, Sarr won't be coming here, Edouard too expensive, which only leaves Benhrama.

No ITK but I am confident we will sign another young striker. Just don't ask me who!
