I'm not expecting anymore today. Maybe someone from the Championship we have another 10 days.

Carl on Twitter ( I don’t know who he is) who apparently is quite reliable says we may try for one but doubt it will happen and Benrahma’s demands are too high and we are not sure where he would fit in! Therefore absolutely nothing and another season of dross survival football I am afraid.
He also basically said our wage bill is still too high to entertain top signings

It would be nice to think we could offload a couple but who would have them?

Unlikely to see any incomings today. BUT will we see any outgoings to the continent? If not then we'll be stuck with Benteke and Sakho till the summer.

I am more hopeful that we'll see some activity in both directions between ourselves and EFL clubs over the next 10 days. WE can just about afford a packet of peanuts!

Steve Parish wrote an article in the Sunday Times yesterday about the Premier League bailing out the EFL.

In it he wrote '' while a few clubs are blessed with seemingly unlimited funds, most clubs either have large debts to the owners or to banks, or both and many shareholders at clubs such as Crystal Palace or Burnley, are not people with significant wealth - they cannot write cheques to cover losses ''.

Don't bother raising the issue of the Americans wealth, we know that they have stopped investing.

To me it's clear that we have to sell to fund any further purchases. And unless someone decides to buy one or more of our expensive flops or matches our valuation of Zaha, that doesn't look likely.

To end on a positive note, I think there are three worse teams than us in the league.

For all his shortcomings, we really cant let Sakho go. Cahill and Tomkins out for how long we dont know, we are thin at centre half. Looks like we need 4 half fit centre halves to rotate and see us through this season.

Sorry to be a bit thick, but who are these teams?
Some thought Villa may again struggle, but they are flying with some astute signings and a positive Manager!!

wasn't that in the context of why prem clubs should/shouldn't bail out lower league clubs? - as opposed To why there is no transfer kitty..

To end on a less than positive note, I'm not sure who those 2 worse teams than us are now after this weekend... Fulham, WBA? Burnley maybe?
still early days yet! plenty of survival opportunities to come
