Thanks for this - great website for tracking expected return to training / match play. It does seem to be the lesser teams with not as much to spend on players and with lack of depth who are hardest hit.

I cannot comment on what was opinied on MOTD as I have not seen the programme.

I was in fairly close proximity to the challenge and with the naked eye I concluded it was a 'Red'.From my vantage point I probably had a better view than the referee.Quite why it took so long VAR to conclude as such is beyond my comprehension.

Arsenal fans were moaning they were playing against 13 men - meaning the ref and VAR were our side.

The phrase the pundits used was there was no intent. They are clearly overlooking the fact it was high and dangerous. The fact Meyer didn’t react probably meant the decision took longer than if they had reacted. For me it’s a clear red end of as it could have ended his career.

it is plane and simple Lineker does not like Palace . For an ex player he seems to have little idea about modern day football or what a foul is . I bet if that had happened to him [ or a Leicester player ]he would burst out in tears or spit his dummy out .

.... not to mention Lacazette who committed 6 fouls during the game and was only booked in the 90th minute.

If you want a laugh and a taste of a totally delusional gooner then this is the link to follow. Tends to ignore the fact Xakha committed 6 fouls in the first half alone with Kolasnic not far behind him.

Nary a mention of the Thompkins header that was almost all the way in?

Leeds fans could their cup tie have said the same earlier in the week!

Arsenal very lucky not to have a player sent off for a kick out?

Anyway Arteta seemed to accept the decision which says it all and even Aubameyang did.

"Intent" is totally irrelevant.
The fact of the matter is that the challenge was worthy of a red card.

Careers have been ended because of tackles like that. A red was absolutely the right decision.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Strikers trade union, defenders commit fouls strikers badly timed tackles.

Fouls are looked at in 'real time' not slo-mo like pens/goals/offside. Hope this helps.
