Makes sense to start a thread on your 3 favourite away day grounds ...

For me:

Craven Cottage - just for location alone, best London away day
Loftus Road - intense, surrounded by estates and houses, right on the pitch
Goodison Park - steeped in history and surrounded by houses

Maine Rd & Highfield Rd a close 4th & 5th for similar reasons as Goodison

Would’ve loved the old Filbert Street then...and Stoke’s old Victoria Ground.

QPR. Great little ground. Crowd very close to the pitch.

Brentford is a decent place to get a drink with a pub on each corner.

Fulham has a great setting.

Obviously I don’t travel further than West London for my away days

I like away grounds where we are given a large section behind one of the goals with a good unobstructed view, which also allows our terrific travelling support to attend in large numbers and get a great atmosphere going, preferably with us concentrated in a single tier.

I could list loads from times gone by but in current terms I particularly enjoyed Huddersfield, WBA & Sheffield Utd.

West Brom - good old skool ground and more importantly, The Vine pub

Chelsea - always have a good pre and post match drink with my Chelsea mates

Portsmouth - proper atmosphere and some decent boozers - and I can get there direct by train from where I live

Old, Ungifted and White

Goodison
s*** ground s*** club but I always enjoy games at Watford
I like Brisbane Road but we haven't played there since the 80s, the Walkers Stadium is good for a newby, much better than St Mary's, decent away section and we have had a few famous victories there, my only trip was a 0-2 when Pearson was manager on a Tuesday night.

Grimsby was always a good laugh.
Swindon
Bury.
All 3 behind the goal great noise great atmosphere
Stockport was good. Travelled without a ticket. Got in and Doogie delivered.
Not so keen on these big clubs that give you a corner to go in.
