Get your crystal ball fixed, Nostradamus. Comments like this are why I rarely come on here anymore. It’s full of cynical and miserable old farts. Yes, I’m seething at a lack of transfers, but not that seething so much as to warrant doom and gloom mongering.

"Look at that. Accident blackspot? These aren't accidents! They're throwing themselves into the road gladly! Throwing themselves into the road to escape all this hideousness!"

I’m going to resurrect the giving up the season ticket thread shortly. Honestly what is the friggin point of supporting the idiots who bankroll our club. I will however be supporting the players 100% because the ineptitude of the management should not detract from their efforts given week in week out.

Isn't that what most normal fans do ? Also, you're right about being an idiot if you bankroll a football club.

Honestly, hand on heart, are you happy with what is going on with the club we love?

It wouldn’t be a shock if Roy decides to walk at the end of the season. He must be as angry as the fans are but probably won’t admit it tomorrow. Maybe they’ll make DF manager again and look for someone competent to find players in the summer.

If we were rock bottom & making no attempts to make signings I'd be as peed off as most but we've got players coming back from injury & only 5 points from the top 6 so we really shouldn't be moaning!

I get why some are angry bit I'm happy we're not throwing money around willy nilly.

If I'm honest, I'm at a point where I don't care, it's just been announced Wickham has joined Sheffield Wednesday.. Thats 6 that have left today including that new Scottish lad too. We already had a tiny squad.
Id love to see the HF hold a banner that tells the Yanks about themselves.
This club is being run by clowns and its infuriating.
I want them gone, and the whole time we keep turning up and singing along for 90 minutes, they'll keep taking their money and carrying on.. F**k that.

I wouldn't blame him if he walked after this window. It's a disgrace and I expect he is as pissed off as we all are

No, like you I see next season being pretty bleak. But I think Parish engaged Harris and Blitzer with the best of intentions and it hasn't worked out. I'm pissed with Americans and think that they have massive wealth and sold us short.

But what I cant get is the stick for Roy and the players that comes from the boards.

The same people complaining about lack of investment are complaining that we aren't playing attacking football with an injury ravaged but very honest group of players and manager.

Players coming back from injury are like new signings. We can all enjoy our new star striker Christian Benteke coming off the bench in the 70th minute to rescue a point against Sheff U tomorrow. Same old same old, 10 men behind the ball and no defenders covering the flanks. Think Chris Wilder might have us figured out.

From his latest interview he seems pretty content to me. Ongoing discussions around a contract extension and both parties appear comfortable that it will mean another year.

People need to remember we have a low wage cap, January is a s*** month for value and we have been unlucky with Ferguson - you can’t plan for the unexpected medical flare up (if that doesn’t go through)

Seems like some simply want to throw money around on streaky but unproven champ players and pay 20m+ and 80k wages on 5 year deals. I can see why we didn’t up our offer. I for one would feel uneasy with that. However someone like spam with their much higher wage cap and deeper pockets - fill your boots. Hope he turns out to be another Hugill and they go down. Pests

All that said, I will get angry if come September we have not signed a minimum of a new striker, left back and creative midfielder - if Wilf goes then add a half decent winger to that mix as well.

I knew this phase of being in this league was coming, people moaning about mid table boredom and purgatory, well until the stand gets built and the new academy starts churning out superstars it’s set to last for at least another 5/10 years before we can begin to get more regular revenue from more corporate and regular capacity, therefore expand our wage bill and buy higher level players to start taking us into the top 10 regularly.

Unless anyone knows a billionaire, put up or give your season to someone else who actually understands the difficulty of progression in this league with the asset, infrastructure and therefore financial constraints we have. It’s all very well harping back to pardew but how did that one end again? Slow and steady wins the race. And it’s a marathon not a sprint.

Yes I agree. I came to accept this situation a while ago and until the owners change it’s going to be this way. What hasn’t helped is the transfer policy of signing only experienced Prem players, most notably Benteke and Sakho. What hasn’t helped is the poor scouting and the experience of Holloway’s Prem transfer window.

Also agree that if they don’t bring in players next summer then I’ll be very angry too. It’s when not if that these signings are made.

I was all for building the team and having time in our favour for next season, but I never got this going for 7th stuff being touted around. The board aren’t ambitious for it, we won’t be able to sustain that without a large squad, even into next season, and what would happen if we made Europe? Struggle like all the others did and stretch our thin squad even more without earning much doing it.

It can be frustrating and boring stuff for lots of 80 mins but it’s far better than Peter Taylor.
