Protests can be counterproductive to the team's performance, as some previously have mentioned; but it really is time the powers that be know that we are not satisfied with the transfer policy (lack of younger players that can start etc etc ): & Hodgson's tactics are sucking the life out of coming to Selhurst. Another game without a shot on target or a corner , which after the game at Bramball Lane is a def posibilty, will leave me screaming. If Benteke gets a game after Wickham be loaned out I really lose it.

Sell Beneteke, or give him away
Try attacking at home, at least let some players to go on to the other side of the pitch to where the ball is.

From his latest interview he seems pretty content to me. Ongoing discussions around a contract extension and both parties appear comfortable that it will mean another year.

People need to remember we have a low wage cap, January is a s*** month for value and we have been unlucky with Ferguson - you can’t plan for the unexpected medical flare up (if that doesn’t go through)

Seems like some simply want to throw money around on streaky but unproven champ players and pay 20m+ and 80k wages on 5 year deals. I can see why we didn’t up our offer. I for one would feel uneasy with that. However someone like spam with their much higher wage cap and deeper pockets - fill your boots. Hope he turns out to be another Hugill and they go down. Pests

All that said, I will get angry if come September we have not signed a minimum of a new striker, left back and creative midfielder - if Wilf goes then add a half decent winger to that mix as well.

I knew this phase of being in this league was coming, people moaning about mid table boredom and purgatory, well until the stand gets built and the new academy starts churning out superstars it’s set to last for at least another 5/10 years before we can begin to get more regular revenue from more corporate and regular capacity, therefore expand our wage bill and buy higher level players to start taking us into the top 10 regularly.

Unless anyone knows a billionaire, put up or give your season to someone else who actually understands the difficulty of progression in this league with the asset, infrastructure and therefore financial constraints we have. It’s all very well harping back to pardew but how did that one end again? Slow and steady wins the race. And it’s a marathon not a sprint.

,

You sound like a fan after my own heart. We just need to get a bit stronger each year.

Also, as you rightly say, Ferguson was unfortunate but then we seem to be an unfortunate club, the team who, in the same year, reached the semi-finals of both domestic cup competitions and finished fourth from bottom in the one season that four teams went down so as tor educe the league from 22 to 20. We also happen to be the team who were relegated from the top division with the highest ever points total (49). And, of course, there was that time Oldham needed so many results to go their way (and against us) and one can go on recounting our club's misfortune over the years.

All we fans can do now is get behind the team and wait to see what new delights (or more likely disappointments) the summer window will bring.

Only Chelsea have a lower net spend than us this year, and they sold Hazard and had a transfer ban. Last year only 4 did, with 2 of those in the Championship. If you combine the last 5 seasons, 4 clubs have net spent less than us. Norwich (Championship), Sheff Utd (Championship/League 1), Southampton (sold Van Dijk, Mane etc. for huge sums), and Burnley.

We're one of only two clubs in the PL to put out a team this season with an average age of over 30. For context, Man Utd put out the youngest at 24.0.

Roy and the players we have are doing an incredible job this season. I'm just worried that we're sleepwalking into a world where this time next season, that average age is 31. The following year it's 32. We're going to have to do a lot of work in a very small space of time to turn that around. The longer we wait to start, the harder it gets to do well.

I have mixed feelings. Of course disappointed we've spent little, but I also happen to supply a number of supporters clubs over here with Merchandise etc & The Chelsea mob are moaning way much more are as the Spuds lot. I'm guessing that the reality is there isn't the money available (& the Board think we are pretty safe)& with the other teams that Liverpool so far ahead why bother.
Hopefully a decent summer spend if this is the case?

We have had several memorable bad losses at ho.home causing a degree of fan meltdown the Fulham game Huddersfield and Sunderland but where are they now and we are still hanging in there punching above our weight. So for me the best option is total support any demonstrations from the fans is only counter productive

I for one will be there tomorrow and support the team, i have supported palace since the 1950s, yes i would like to see some new faces, but this is still a good squad, with players that care, mid table, with the injuries we have had, all in all, i am bloody happy

Not sure if anybody from the management cares but I've been a supporter for 52 years. I really have had enough of how I club is run and how they expect us to pump our hard earned money into a club week in week out while our chairman drives around in a top of the range look at me sports car. All football fans are mugs and clubs rely on us being mugs for them to survive. Well I've had enough of this and our clubs management. They won't care about me or whether I support Palace or not. Shame on them, but my conscious is clear

52 years - which implies you must be about 60. In which case I respectfully suggest you grow up and act your age.

Also Parish is entitled to drive round in what he likes - Palace as a club hasn’t paid for it, and he simply isn’t wealthy enough to bankroll a club on his own.

Yea something appears not quite right at the moment, but I’d lay money Parish has put more money in over the years than the majority of fans.

I’d take him over a Peter Risdale for example every time.

Grow up and act your age, what the hell does that mean, you idiot. It,s how I feel and my opinion which I'm entitled to. You're typical of the fans of today and society in general

What that I’m pragmatic enough to realise that somethings are more important than a game of football?

I agree, we quite clearly have no transfer strategy and it would appear have very little scouting network to identify players. It pains me to see Lamptey the U20 now ex Chelsea right back go to Brighton with our name not even being mentioned.
We bring in some players that never even put on a first team shirt and later dispatched to pastures new with the impression that they were not Hodgson’s choices. Not a way to run a PL club and as I have mentioned on another post tonight it’s Poundstretcher mentality.

This Jan window is not a one off though and the last day ‘Supermarket sweep’ is clearly club policy.

In summary it’s the Palace so must we expect anything else?
