Sadly the vote of a moron counts just the same as the vote of someone who knows whats up.

So you do want votes limited then? If you could reinvent the system what would it look like? Or is your only criteria really that you don't like it when people vote in a different way to you?

Of course we cannot change the fundamental rules of democracy.

Each vote counts the same, matov.

However on the topic of Brexit, I dont think it should have been decided by Joe Q Public. Career economists with phds had no clue about what it would do to the economy, how is Jimmy from Crewe supposed to make an intelligent decision on it, without falling foul of racist or misleading propaganda from Farage and co painted on the side of a bus, and creaming in his pants over the word "sovereignty" which he hadnt heard before 2016.

If we are talking the US election, the topic of this thread, then I am sure you understand how the electoral college works, in terms of the weight of an individual vote.

Clinton, the most unpopular candidate for decades, still won the popular vote by over 3 million.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

Sometimes what I read on here makes me worry for the entire future of the human race.

Xenophobia:

dislike of or prejudice against people from other countries.

You are admitting you are a racist, and trying to make it sound like being a racist is ok.

I'm glad you are being honest about why you like people like Trump. Hes a xenophobe too, and believes it to be very natural indeed.

Recheck your facts.
Xenophobia is a fear of foreigners.
That's it in a nutshell I'm afraid.
You can plaster all the side meanings you like but you are wrong matey.

Haha.

I even cut and pasted the dictionary definition of xenophobia in my other post, therefore conjecture concerning what I consider xenophobia to be is futile. It is what I said it is.

People like me? Who is that exactly?

I love the rules of democracy. Try reading "How Democracies Die" by Levistky and Ziblatt and then come back to me concerning the rules of democracy, and how Donald Trump has broken every single one.

Elections are not democratic when they are predicated on lies and mistruths, which the idiotic plebs in this world lap up like their precious cheap beer, sadly not smart enough to figure out they are being duped like the suckers that they are.

Every election is predicated by lies and mistruths. Grow up.

Foreigners are people from other countries.

I like how we are debating what a word means, which is listed in the dictionary:

noun

an aversion or hostility to, disdain for, or fear of foreigners, people from different cultures, or strangers: Xenophobia and nationalism can be seen as a reaction to the rise of globalization.

fear or dislike of the customs, dress, etc., of people who are culturally different from oneself:Learning a foreign language can help to overcome xenophobia.

We have cases here too where the victor did not get a majority of the popular vote.

Attlee polled more than Churchill - 1952 lost.
Heath polled more than Wilson - 1970 lost.

Our system is just as flawed as the college system, the party in power rigging the electoral boundaries.

Often the first past the post system puts a minority in power.

And of course we have a totally unelected upper house, and the USA a politically appointed supreme court.

Parliament did, at least to start with. Hence the referendum in the first place. Then they tried to stop it happening. And failed.

Joe Q Public voted on the issue on numerous occassions. Firstly in voting in a Conservative Party in 2015 on a manifesto to hold the Referendum, then in the referendum itself, then in 2017, 80% of the population voting for two political parties who both agreed to honour the result, then in 2019 twice. European Elections won by the Brexit Party and then a General Election.

The case against Brexit was clearly dismissed as being an irrelevance. Not once but five times. That is pure democracy in action. PR AND first past the post.

Once again your spidey sense is way off here, Pete.

Not all brexiteers are racists.

However the person I was replying to, who said its quite alright and natural/not illegal to be a xenophobe, clearly is...

Xenophobia is the bastion of the small minded.

Try to expand your mind a little, and realize that what country someone comes from doesn't define them.

Thanks for the advice but rather not take it thanks, Pete

Like I said a fear of foreigners. You've just stated that.

So if I claim to be a xenophobe, I will be arrested?

I don't fear foreigners. I just don't like many of them.
