Possibly with Trump Jnr as his VP to keep the hardline base onside. I hope I am wrong and the GOP move back to the centre again where they might have a chance of running someone who would command general respect like Mitt Romney.

Nothing like that, so far as I can recall, has ever happened in the UK on any occasion, Brexit included. So the Brexit "result" (quoting you) has been accepted but the reasons for holding the vote in the first place, the way that Parliament behaved and the consequences haven't.
