Any politician worried about being called "nasty" wouldn't last long these days. The problem isn't the principle it's how to manage it without the costs outweighing the benefits. If the plan to limit immigration only to those who already have a job offer worth in excess of £25k is adhered to then many low paid jobs are going to remain unfilled unless the balance between working and drawing benefits is redrawn. We will see. It's nothing though to do with this thread!
