Parish the parasite and the Americans will sell the club for a song to ambitious owners with deep pockets. Roy will resign which will enable us to employ a younger manager who will start blooding young players like Dreher, Kirkby, Perrick, Gonzalez (dubbed the next Coutinho in that Daily Mail article)- If we stayed up Roy will continue playing the 30+ aged players who will play to his disciplined ways. Which will mean we get bored s***less for the next 2 to 3 years!! Relegation will force changes which in the long run might be better for the club

Man up you tart!!

Spot on. Was about to write an almost identical list. I’d add more Saturday 3pm kick offs as well.

Not that I want us to go down, but my happiest Palace memories have always been in the Championship. It’s more entertaining and dog eat dog.

There’s more satisfaction to be had down there, rather then aiming for mid table obscurity each season in the Prem. There’s a certain pride in supporting a small plucky club, and sadly we’re not really that anymore. It’s something that Man Utd and Liverpool glory hunters could never really understand.

It’s important that we stay up this season due to the state of our finances. I fear it would be a slippery slope for us. Once we’re in better shape I’d be happy to spend a few years in the Championship and would probably get my ST back.

Agree.
For me as a supporter I’d say over a 10 year cycle I’d choose 6 in the championship ( more goals, wins, promotion, Wembley, Millwall/charlton/Brighton most years), no tourists.
4 in the top league, excited about away games against the big clubs.
I’m sure this wouldn’t work for the money men, but as a fan I like it.

Naturally wouldn’t want us to go down, however I do think there are be positives.

More games
Less tourists
Availability of tickets
More goals/wins
The chance of winning something instead of the annual relegation battle

You missed out seeing some of the younger players getting a chance which would be great to see. I can't believe anyone is enjoying seeing whats going on at the moment. If we stay up Roy will still be here next season and as a fan of 50 years I can't say that's something I would want.

I don't know how old the people who want us relegated are, but what do they think every club in the Championship is striving for? Just to avoid relegation? So they can go to another Tuesday night away fixture in Hartlepool?

We are in the 'promised land' at the moment. The football may not be too much fun, but we are where we would want to be if were relegated!

Count to ten, get a grip, slap yourself, whatever it takes, we are at the top!

Also, if you wonder why we are referred to as 'Stripey Nigels'.....just read the last couple of weeks worth of comments from our 'fans'. A load of pussies imo.

I don’t think anyone said they’d want us to get relegated.

For some, the reality of reaching the promised land isn’t actually all that, once over the honeymoon period.

There is another thread about how sedate Selhurst Park has become. I’d say it’s mostly down to the way we are playing, but a big part is that the Premier League novelty has worn off and many fans now turn up with the expectation to be entertained rather than to lift the players with vocal support. The fans mentality has changed for the worse.

It feels like we’re stuck in a bit of a dull non existence. A few seasons in the Championship might galvanise the fans and we can have a reset of expectations.

Really? Being mid-table in the world's top league and seeing the cream of the top footballers at Selhurst in a full and atmospheric stadium? How awful...much better to be scrabbling about playing scunthorpe I guess.

I expect us to be safe. However, Roy privately having a post relegation mindset for a couple of matches after that happy date of PL football for next season being confirmed, could give a joyful day for home supporters, with the players who might be left combining to surprise the world on that matchday.

There are no positives to relegation, stupid thread.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

No.. don't even want to consider relegation. However, Roy and Ray do need to use the next couple of weeks to think carefully about how we get the 10 points needed to stay up. Perhaps they will now throw caution to the wind and go for it for it a bit more. There was a short 5 minute spell after we scored that we actually looked lethal. The shackles were off...loved it. No, I don't think Roy should stay, but he is our manager, so will support him.

The maturity of squad may actually work in our favour. The players are not stupid, if we go down they have much to lose....how many of them would find other clubs willing to match their current salaries? They are also fighting to ensure their standard of living remains unchanged.

So 4 crucial, winnable games coming up. A few years ago we created the most amazing 12th man atmosphere both home and away. The time has come to recharge our own batteries and support the team we all love.
