Not so sure. The Shinners having a role in any Dublin Government would probably harden Unionist sentiment not only in the North but also the rest of the UK. Any wavering voices in Belfast that had started to perhaps think that maybe a future in which an EU connected Dublin might not be such a bad option would now baulk at the idea given that a bunch of terrorist and criminal supporters now had at least a hand on the helm.

From a UK perspective, any ROI Government that has Sinn Fein on the inside must automatically be viewed as hostile and provoke an appropriate reaction.

Well, Sinn Fein performed pretty well in NI in the General Election. And NI voted to stay in the EU. There appears to be a growing desire for reunification on both sides of the border and, frankly, I doubt if the UK government has the stomach for another fight in Ireland on its hands.
