That's something that I don't think the stores have thought through as surely all of the at risk people shopping at the same time is a recipe for disaster

In practice it doesn't work anyway - there were plenty of 'ordinary' people in our local shop at the specified time.

A new twist with the Co-op (our village shop) is that as well as one hour every day for the vulnerable (and their carers), they are now including NHS workers!

Oh joy, people from the front line of infection shopping alongside the vulnerable and elderly - who the hell thought that a good idea?

I expect to see outsiders lol flocking up here within days. I will be able to hear if they’re from the concrete.

No tux, they are advising not telling.
Surely you should be isolating for 2 weeks after coming back from Portugal.
Or alternatively dont go in the first place!

It's not only your family who will or could be infected by someone who doesnt know they have the virus.
Anyway after half of kent had house parties last night maybe our liberty does need stopping.
Some people just dont get it!
Kids think they are untouchable but come the time their mates are being toasted it might be too late.

I get your point but we had far more contact with people in Tesco for 30mins yesterday (both physical and airborne) than we had for over 140hrs while in Portugal*.
If you're going to get it then you're going to get it.

*As Rudi points out, one of the less infected regions in Europe.

Maybe they brought an old person’s id, and there’s no stopping them buying for multiple people (their families)

There are plenty of people with limited intelligence in retail.

I told wifey that I'm more at risk from her than members of the general public as everyone she mixes with at work is sick although not necessarily infectious.

Sick? In the head? (Lewd jokes?)

Ok mate I know how important it is to you and your mum in law and necessary.
I might not have given you credit for knowing the risks so sorry for that.
I'm not a doctor but am worried for me and my youngest son.
Hes type 1 so really have to be on the ball for him.
Hes bricking it poor lad and nothing we do will fully protect him.
I get frustrated when people (not you) just dont get how serious this will get if it cannot be stopped from spreading.
Hope you have a good (safe) day.

Sainsbury's( i think) have introduced shopping hours for NHS/key workers 07.30 - 08.30 Mon - Sat & then OAPS/vulnerable/carers 08.30 - 09.30 Mon,Weds,Fri

That's much more sensible - shame we haven't got a Sainsbury shop locally....

Do you think the nhs/key workers and olduns will pillage all the items like joe public appears to be doing.
I do hope they dont as this separation of shopping times will make no difference.

Ray of hope, maybe, that some kind of normality is only a few weeks away. The pictures in this article are really quite exciting.

No evidence yet as far as I know whether there'll be a second wave in Asia to follow the return to work?

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry.
