Well, we weren’t really on the same wavelength although I had a soft spot for him. Last thing he said indicated he’d keep an eye on us but couldn’t really type any more. He’ll probably read this from his palatial country manor now paved in gold. Hi Hoof.

Similar tbh.
Not too sure about the palatial country pad paved in gold but if the paving is that then he's in good company.
Hoof, if you are taking a peek, i hope all's well.

You've a better chance of buying a loo roll atm than an ounce of gold.

Not in some shops last week

Just a thought.
I know most masks wont protect you from vapour droplets as they are tiny. The main cause of infection is touching a contaminated surface then eyes, nose or mouth. Maybe a mouth and nose covering will for a split second remind you to wash or disinfect your hands before touching your face.
Just perusing this thought while getting ready for work ,looking out of the window ,wondering what life was like before coronavirus.
Now its F U B A R.
One of my fave films BTW.
Be safe people,we can and we will beat this. X

Unfortunately many of us won't be around to join in the victory celebrations

I;ve just had my third email in a week from "Mike" who is the CEO of Sainsbury telling me about the latest moves to combat the virus.

As from today they are restricting the number of people in the store at any one time which whilst sensible doesn't go far enough.

As a supposedly vulnerable person I tend to go early with all of the oldies and I'm surprised by the large number of couples standing in the queue which in most cases is completely unnecessary.

Yesterday I was standing behind a middle aged blind woman who was naturally accompanies by someone sighted. What good was she doing apart from increasing the risk to herself and everyone else.

Spain are only allowing one family member in at a time. Why aren't we doing the same?

Quite! Although the OH may drive me to the shops, he stays in the car whilst I pop in to pick up the essentials - seems sensible to us

One to protect the toilet rolls and pasta in the trolley and one to fight over the paracetamol and hand sanitiser. You run the risk of losing everything if you leave that trolley unattended.

Just heard about this CLAP FOR HEALTH WORKERS idea.

Surely one pandemic is enough?

Sainsbury’s won’t do anything to put those policies into practice. Others might, Sainsbury’s won’t or will be the last to.

Strange things DO happen ... "Mike" CEO at Sainsbury's sent me a 'personal' email at 3.45am this morning (nice to know he's working all through the night on our behalf) to inform me about priority customers and the new arrangements starting in his supermarkets. Ten minutes later, I received another 'personal' email to say delivery booking slots are available now. Actually, I did nothing about it until I woke up properly around 8.30 then went online at Sainsbury's to have a look. EVERY booking slot for tomorrow (but only tomorrow) was available!!!??? I haven't seen a free slot for weeks. Either it's a miracle or possibly, I've been conned out of week's shopping money. Time will tell.
