Oddly enough many of them might well do.

Expenditure tends to rise to meet income and many of these highly paid footballers have huge mortgages over very short periods

They can sell a car or three for knock down prices.

Seriously, they must be living in some expensive drums if they cannot meet mortgage payments with at least £100k per mortgage month take home and actually more seeing as lots of them are tax dodging. Lower down the pyramid there’s going to be issues but anyone on a lucrative Prem contract would either need to cut some losses or something.

Cucking, your time has finally come.

I'm ready. And, as always, I'll be gentle with you.

You're absolutely right and I forgot to mention that the memo that went round here did state that it was to show appreciation for all of those who are working throughout the crisis health workers, teachers, delivery drivers, supermarket workers. I think it's a nice touch.

When it's all done and dusted I think there should be a parade to celebrate their efforts. They deserve the open top bus as much as the FA cup winners.

That's a great idea and, yeah, all of them will deserve it.

A token gesture isn’t enough when it’s all over and they’re being paid less than their worth and we’re importing nurses from abroad.

In terms of 20% wage cut for players.

As of now, there seems to be 3-4 month break. I don`t think 20% for 3-4 months will be dramatic change for clubs (for eg: if clubs` annual salary cost is £60 mil, that is equal to £3 million for 3 month impact) However this can be game changer for community who is impacted due to virus.

If players are ok for this cut, i would prefer clubs to keep this money at a pool account to be handed over to charity for this purpose after the outbreak ends. I understand 3 month can be extended (thus keeping the money at the pool) and not every club will be able to support due to their debts. But as it is already optional, they can decide by their own.

When there is players / coaches who donates £1 million, clubs can contribute similar / more as well and this can come from these overrated wages..

They should get a pay rise, permanently. Supermarket workers should get either a large temporary pay rise or a tax free bonus of at least a grand. The government should legislate for this.
Whilst a student, I worked at Tescos on the tills. I enjoyed it to some extent but it made me appreciate how difficult that job is. After a year and a half I kept hearing the beep of items scanning and left. Some kind of wimp's PTSD.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'boris' by Midlands Eagle

Boris supposedly got the virus, but given his record on the truth(been sacked twice for telling porkies), i wouldn"t put it past him to be pulling a fast one! In the next couple of weeks, when people are dropping like Italians, Boris might be finding the heat a bit to much to bare as the questions come in to the live conference(we all know he"s a funny buffoon but not great when has to answer a question on spur of moment, without talking latin phrases or churchill quotes! Questions like,,Prime minister, why are we in lock down when the herd mentality was the way to go two weeks ago? Prime minister, why did we let the flights from Italy come in unchecked for weeks after they were dropping like flies, and unchecked? Prime minister, if you really have the virus, how the fcuk did you get tested? Where did the you get the kit? How did hrh charley get tested? Do you have the same doc? Why arent the whole country getting tested so we can isolate or carry on? just saying,,,,,,,,,,

Give them 80% of their salaries up to a max of £2500 a month ... that should pay for their petrol!

I had worked at a bank`s call center for my first job and roughly spoke to 30,000 people in 1.5 years. Most challenging job i ever did. Although i have lots of more responsibility / various of challenges at my current job now, i would not go back to that period even if they pay double of my current salary..

I still avoid telephone calls.

Correlation of salary and stress of jobs which you serve directly for people is not fair but this is how system works.
