I have read an article which claims that average 55,000 lives have been saved due air improvement due to lock-down in China.

So their balance sheet is positive.

[Link]

China locked down the one province and they are calculating from four cities over a period of years when the province has one and was locked down for weeks.....very dodgy.

They have since lifted full lockdown a couple of weeks ago.

CNN are full of it.....happy to create false impressions for the clicks from headlines.

Boris supposedly got the virus, but given his record on the truth(been sacked twice for telling porkies), i wouldn"t put it past him to be pulling a fast one! In the next couple of weeks, when people are dropping like Italians, Boris might be finding the heat a bit to much to bare as the questions come in to the live conference(we all know he"s a funny buffoon but not great when has to answer a question on spur of moment, without talking latin phrases or churchill quotes! Questions like,,Prime minister, why are we in lock down when the herd mentality was the way to go two weeks ago? Prime minister, why did we let the flights from Italy come in unchecked for weeks after they were dropping like flies, and unchecked? Prime minister, if you really have the virus, how the fcuk did you get tested? Where did the you get the kit? How did hrh charley get tested? Do you have the same doc? Why arent the whole country getting tested so we can isolate or carry on? just saying,,,,,,,,,,

They are all more important than you and me,as are nurses, doctors and the like.
Dont go out and ot meet anyone you arnt living with and you will be ok more than likely.

I was listening to Radio 4 this morning, whilst driving the family to the Peak District for exercise.

Government wants all homeless people in accommodation within 7 days and is consulting with all Local Authorities to see how this can be achieved.
SHELTER wanted to know if it was so easy to do, why wasn't this done years ago ? Who is going to pay for this ? and when the virus is over , what happens to the homeless ?

In the near empty town centre this morning, a lot of homeless people grouping together, attracting police intervention.
Only when the vulnerable present a threat to voters, does the Government intervene

Something positive about the whole world locking down. Pollution is already at the lowest level for 5 years and the hole in the ozone is closing.

Now this doesn’t excite me enormously however it does show that enforced reductions in CO2 and other emissions can have a fairly rapid impact on our environment.

So in reality being told we are dead in ten years is bollox.
4 week shutdown cures 5 years input.
16 weeks would take us to where we will be after our taxes rise for this eco wet dream.
I knew the climate change man made thing was a load of old s***.
Point proved I think.
EXreb can f*** off with greta now cant they.

I would think they are safer on the streets.

In fact this bold part is what makes me confused when i see criticisms such as `China went full lock-down and stopped it, why don`t we? Why Italy was late?` As far as i know they didn`t go full-lock down for the whole country. Yes acreage is matter as well but majority of China is rural anyways. Risk was with the cities.

80,000 cases in China when virus most likely ruled over a month before regionally lock-down and Italy already exceeded this numbers with %3 of total population of China?

True, numbers about China is always tricky.

Journalists are less interested in the truth over fulfilling their employer's narrative....whoever they are.

Media is very much an exercise in finding individual journalists whose reputations are built on honesty.

When you start to look at the figures and how different countries are impacted and are dealing with this virus.....You can see how it comes down to hygiene and cultural behaviours much more than anything else....it even defeats population density.

Italy has an old population but more importantly it has a much higher percentage of inter generational housing, culturally they aren't naturally predisposed to social distance nor.....dare I say it hygiene.

I predict that when this is over and you come to look at the UK's percentage figures you'll see it's the cities....and cultures that live inter-generationally without much hygiene culture where the higher stats come from....cough midlands cough

I think most of us take the virus numbers with a pinch of salt. One country won't or can't count them probably because they don't have the logicists to test people. Other countries are better at it so it makes them look bad because their numbers are higher.

In this country we appear to be only counting people who are in hospital the rest is just guesswork.

Rumours that 25% are Muslim, sorry islamic. They are less than 10% of the population.
i doubt through cleanliness but through all living together. Much like italy and spain.
Ironic that in london most would have ther own properties but choose to live together for I would be so brave as to say financial reasons. Buy one let one out. That's my opinion and I've got a feeling the reset after this will allow me one at last. I reckon the police are happy they are being let off that dopey PC lead they've been on as well.

I agree.

Those who mingle and also live in close quarters to the vulnerable will definitely have a higher risk of infecting them for sure.

That said, in my view hygiene also matters significantly because people's hands are also exposed to the air and also touch surfaces and people and the average person touches their own face many times in a day....I imagine it increases the risk several times over.

If you are a person, or culture who regularly sanitizers or washes their hands throughout the day you're going to reduce that risk.

Cultures that respect a wider personal space naturally also reduce risk.....It all factors in.

No point in testing as if you are joe public it doesnt matter one way or other. Isolate and hope you dont need blue lights. Testing if you've had it is more important. That's how this changes and dick heads taking and adhering to the advice obviously.
Fit and healthy 16 year old died in spain I think.
