This startd with a rumour (which as you know there is no smoke without fire) about there being proportionally more deaths within the muslim community in London, the Midlands may well be the same as deaths there are quite high. Then discussion about why that may be.

They are national talking points. Multiple threads on the same topic is a valid criticism.

Then discussion about why that may be. It’s a stat, not a rumour, that the Muslim community have more cases and deaths per population. I heard it last Sunday afternoon on LBC the same time you did. LBC has been excellent during all this. Last night and some in the afternoon had callers of recent death victims, young and old. Some of them you weren’t expecting the story to say they’ve died so it hit you when the story developed to that. Coming to terms with that death and having no contact from hospital admission all the way to the grave is horrendous.

I have to agree completely. My output on here has greatly reduced because this place has become rather dull and I am tired of wasting my time arguing with the hopelessly deluded. I have better things to do. Edited by Hrolf The Ganger (28 Mar 2020 1.26pm)

The UK Government have recognised the importance of exercise and some people in certain localities might need to drive to a local park or the countryside etc rather than simply walking around their neighbourhood day on day in an area which might not be the most salubrious.Even in well-heeled areas there are those who might conclude that fresh air out in the open is highly beneficial. My dear wife and I are fortunate in that there are delightful walks which can be taken along the south down etc etc but some might need to avail of their transportation to make the short journey (By car) to these places.Can certainly spread out over the South Downs! It's true that we should endeavear to keep the threads that broach the same topic down in numbers.....and the stale and repeating viewpoint is also true though I suppose there is a certain inevitability about that. If you drive you might crash or hit someone and ambulances are at a premium right now! Also cannot see why cycling atm seems a good idea for the same reason. I get that local streets are boring but are people really not able to sacrifice their usual spaces for 3 months or so? Stay home,protect yourselves,protect others save lives,protect the nhs.
