(sorry - I do sympathise with your predicament really)

I can quite imagine you in a cravat Willo smoking a briarwood pipe

With perhaps a battered, but much loved, tankard of foaming local ale in his hand or perhaps an occasional dram of the finest Malt to be enjoyed on High Saints days.

Or, if the mood takes, a cheeky drop of Pink Gin.

By jingo, I am honoured and flattered to be viewed in such a manner!
Here sits one beaming hombre and I feel like the cock of the walk!
You mentioned 'Pink Gin' - I admit I have sampled a 'Rives' but more than a "Cheeky drop" of it!

So all that good stuff is coming to them as well.

I thought it was 'herd' toilet roll that we all needed. Then that seemed to change.

If you think our measures are draconian just be thankful you don’t live in Hungary.

There was a debate pertaining to 'Izal' and 'Bronco' and I asserted that I had NO recollection whatsoever of using these brands.

In actual fact I have no recollection of experiencing any discomfort from any brand of toilet paper.
There were some on HOL who related to their experiences after having a bowel movement at their school - I walked out of the school gates for the final time around 50 years ago, accordingly on this subject the memory has dimmed due to the passage of time.

Being bored at home and trawling the internet to pass the time, I came across this article about Coronavirus in Cornwall.(note it was written before the lockdown)
Now I can understand them not wanting it spread and not wanting their NHS to be stretched but some of the comments are staggering.
It seems in some "locals" eyes if you were not born and bred in Cornwall you don't belong and the only troublemakers are those from elsewhere.
Somewhat dispels WE view that everyone is welcome and such a nice place to live.
Bets being taken on which comments were made by WE

None of the comments were mine. There are idiots everywhere and any reporter wishing to spin a story won't have to look too far to find them.

The fact is that most of the criticism was aimed at the owners of holiday parks who were actively encouraging people to travel here immediately after the "lockdown" instructions were given. At best they misunderstood the instructions. At worst they were profiteering. Then people who arrived were behaving as though they were on holiday. Something I witnessed myself. I saw a large group of teenage boys on their way to a beach to play football. None exercising social distancing and all totally oblivious to others.

The fact is that we only have one major hospital here, the Royal Cornwall in Truro, and it is often already over stretched. Of course it handles a large summer influx of visitors with minor injuries etc but is not able to cope with the demands that might result from a sudden significant increase in residents and this pandemic.

So I guess that's why the message to stay at home and avoid non essential travel was reinforced and people discouraged from travelling to their "second" homes or renting accomodation.

It's all quietened down now. Whether folk have returned home I don't know. Everything other than the supermarkets are shut and people are just walking locally. It's also damn cold and windy. If I was stuck in a drafty, poorly heated static caravan on a misty cliff, with the shop, bars and entertainment closed, with a bunch of bored kids who cannot mix with others I might now be regretting my decision.
