Apparently the number of new infections in London is down to around 20 odd per day which is excellent news from the peak of thousands. As London lead the way at the beginning hopefully this will be the trend for the rest of the country. So look at the London rate in 2 weeks will it go up after relaxing the rules. I see some of the union bosses are being idiots in trying to block their members going back to work. Providing reasonable precautions are taken there is no such thing as a 100% safe environment. Hopefully their members will be responsible.

The economy is going to be up s*** creek for quite a while but just imagine if we had no lockdown and many, many young and middle aged taxpayers had died - our economy would have been even further up the creek without the proverbial paddle

Obesity most certainly not restricted to the over 55s

He makes, of course, some valid points about the impact of lockdowns on mental health and general wellbeing but, as others do, he draws what I believe to be the wrong conclusions. He seems to be another for whom the concept of personal freedom outweighs that of collective responsibility. Right now I am very glad I live in the UK and not in the USA.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |
