Tips hat.

One of the main jobs was to enlarge NHS provision at the beginning, which we did. Once we had built those hospitals we should have been out of full lockdown and into sensible measures like Sweden have.

Men and women have to provide for their families. We should protect the vulnerable as best we can within a working economy.

Instead our politicians have fecked our economy for god knows how long and all they have acheived is ensuring that this virus will be around doing its thing for longer.....We get to observe the hubris of those who think they can control nature by destroying economies.

La la land.

Every word you have said makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Go take a look at the Panorama programme the other night and in particular the undertakers in East London who had to buy not hire refrigerated containers to house at one point was 400 bodies and most poignant was the bosses comments that many of those had gone far too early in some cases in their 30’s. Can you then imagine what your ridiculous herd theory would have created? We had it easy with our lockdown go speak to people in Spain and Italy who endured far tougher restrictions.
It is you that are in La la land as indeed is Mr Trump and if you want to see the results of your herd master plan keep your eyes on the death rate there.

Apparently the number of new infections in London is down to around 20 odd per day which is excellent news from the peak of thousands. As London lead the way at the beginning hopefully this will be the trend for the rest of the country. So look at the London rate in 2 weeks will it go up after relaxing the rules.

I see some of the union bosses are being idiots in trying to block their members going back to work. Providing reasonable precautions are taken there is no such thing as a 100% safe environment. Hopefully their members will be responsible.

The economy is going to be up s*** creek for quite a while but just imagine if we had no lockdown and many, many young and middle aged taxpayers had died - our economy would have been even further up the creek without the proverbial paddle

I also agree with Wizzie as I guess most right thinking decent people do but there will always be people who think that they know better than either the government or their scientific advisors.

This talk that the virus is only dangerous to the elderly and infirm is nonsense as our 55 year old healthy Prime Minister almost didn't make it and in any event anyone who thinks that the elderly and infirm are expendable isn't worth listening to

It seems obesity is a huge factor ( Boris has said this yesterday), we have a higher percentage of obesity than most countries, which seems to have “upped” our death rate. Obesity most certainly not restricted to the over 55s

Statistics have been released showing that a quarter of the people who had died in hospital suffered from diabetes so that probably goes along with the obesity theory

Italy have probably hugely underestimated their covid deaths. I means really underestimated.

They said that they didn't know the split so far but no doubt will be working on it

A dissenting view of lockdowns.

He makes, of course, some valid points about the impact of lockdowns on mental health and general wellbeing but, as others do, he draws what I believe to be the wrong conclusions. He seems to be another for whom the concept of personal freedom outweighs that of collective responsibility.

Right now I am very glad I live in the UK and not in the USA.
