She may have resigned from her post but will Sir Keir sack her?

Is opposition whips posts paid? Not sure what she is losing in terms of employment.

She is losing a lot of respect as it's the role of the whip to ensure that MPs vote in accordance with the party's wishes which she can hardly do if she can't do it herself

No doubt, but not losing her job as an MP.

Probably been told to jump before she was pushed. If you are going to make a career mistake it's a good time to do it now. If she is any good Starmer will bring her back in time for the next election by which time the public won't care about her mistake. To be honest I have never heard of her so not exactly political dynamite.

Predictably there are stories in the papers today about the people who grassed Cummings up.

The one who said he made a second journey now admits he made that up whilst the retired teacher has now admitted he also broke the rules.

Let him who has not sinned throw the first stone, "mother put that rock down".

Most of the people mouthing off about Dominic Cummings had never heard of him either. To those indignant ones that insist that they had heard of him I ask "In that case who were Teresa May's advisors or perhaps David Cameron's

Yup Politicians have always had advisors he is no different from Alistair Campbell. Marcia Williams was Wilson's secretary but the press and opposition believed she was much the power behind the throne and wielded too much influence.

Much of the criticism either shows a lack of understanding, is reductio ad absurdum or is of rare incidents. If overall the way we discussed such issues were less about rabid extremists and more a grown up debate about the issues then the pros and cons of raising and eating meat and types of husbandry could be better understood by all. And we could all make informed decisions not based on he or she who shouts loudest.

Here are pigs

Although I do find it “amusing” that Alastair Campbell has the nerve to criticise. Allegedly he was involved in the writing of an alleged dodgy dossier. Wonder what Professor Kelly’s family think about his apparent hypocrisy
