Just watching Boris on sky news in a lab being led round by a man snd then a woman. Boris in a black mask and the scientists wearing nothing. ‘The science’

This is a very valid point. Of course it may be that millions have had it already and not even realised it?

Absolutely. Anyone who has ever squeezed into a rammed tube during the morning commute must know that it surely rampaged through London in those early days at a bare minimum.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

I've played no part in this thread up to now so apologies if I'm about to retread old ground and congratulations for reaching 700+ pages. Nugent-esque.

However, I'm increasingly being swayed by the view of Mike Yeadon and others who argue that the PCR tests are wildly inaccurate and churning out thousands of false positives per day.

I simply don't see how a disease that is supposedly twice as infectious as seasonal flu, which itself usually takes around 4-5 months to get round the country, has taken twice as long to infect far fewer people. Something just doesn't add up.

It's also striking how few excess deaths there have been since the peak back in April/May when it obviously was rampaging round.

Minimal excess deaths, hospitals actually less full than this time last year, yet apparently we have tens of thousands of cases per day and should be cowering away in our homes. So what gives?

There is mounting evidence that Covid is far less deadly than previously thought, with the latest suggestion being that it kills 0.4% of cases or fewer and I honestly believe that there are far, far fewer cases than we're being told.

I'm in a difficult position as my grandmother, brother and mother in law are all classed as 'vulnerable' owing to medical conditions so, even though I believe all this, I would never put them at risk by acting on it and get short shrift from my wife for even discussing it.

However, for me something isn't right so I'd love someone on here to explain why my views are nonsense and put me at ease that this crappy Christmas with no boozing in the pub is going to be worth it.

PCR tests are capable of being pretty inaccurate, yes

60-90% range

A lot of factors determine which percentage you fall into - eg you are at the mercy of the competence of the individual poking around in your face, for example

And at home swabs are likely to be even worse - I’ve been tested multiple times and I know how deep that thing has to go! No positives though.

The rapid tests are far worse. 40-70%, only good for catching people with high viral loads. Will false neg anyone with lower levels of virus which is not ideal

Did you know? 98.0000001% of people are morons.

Test symptomatic people only. End this nonsense.

Interesting that one or two or you perhaps feel similarly to me about it.

It's a tricky stance to take because suggesting that the pandemic is being overblown, or is perhaps even over, to someone who might have lost a loved one to it inevitably can come across as insensitive. I'm just very concerned that we are destroying our economy and sleepwalking in a far more severe period of austerity based on misinformation.

I'm not denying the initial impact of Coronavirus or even that it still lives among us, I merely believe that we have huge issues when it comes to categorising Covid deaths (classing anyone who has died of any reason as a Covid death if they have tested positive within 28 days) coupled with a testing system that is highly faulty. These are clearly problematic when seismic decisions affecting the economy and people's lives are being made.

From what I understand, the PCR test was never designed to be the front line of testing for a disease, it was supposed to offer confirmation once a clinical diagnosis had already been made. It was also supposed to be carried out in a controlled lab environment, not on an industrial scale in giant testing centres before being transported in huge batches around the country.

Supposedly, the test is known to produce an absolute minimum of 2% false positives, or 20,000 for every 1,000,000 tests carried out. When you add in the potential for cross contamination from the sheer industrial scale in which the tests are now being carried out, it becomes a guessing game as to how high that number actually is. Especially as the government have thus far refused to give a figure.

Interestingly the Portuguese Court of Appeal have now ruled that the PCR test “is unable to determine, beyond reasonable doubt, that a positive result corresponds, in fact, to the infection of a person by the SARS-CoV-2 virus”. You can read about that here: [Link]

Another development which I notedwith interest was that John Ioannidis, a professor of epidemiology at Stanford University, has published a paper stating that our initial predictions surrounding the death rate of this virus, and therefore our reaction to it, were wildly overegged. That paper has actually been peer reviewed now and was published by the WHO as a result. I can't share a link but if you Google 'John Ioannidis WHO paper' it's the top result.

Many more people are waking up now to what appears to be going on yet the lockdown fanatics just want longer/deeper lockdowns with no concern around the collateral damage of non diagnosed cancers, thousands of businesses closed, millions unemployed, increased poverty, eye watering debt being built up by the Govt etc.

What amazes me is that over Brexit many people say that Johnson, Gove etc lied and cheated yet with CV19 they believe every word they say - ignoring how much money they have given to their chums for contracts etc.

Blimey mate.

Yet when it's BLM the activists get to chase them down the streets while a good number of them kneel to them.

Deface Churchill or the cenotaph....their managers have them chilled and laid back.

I've no respect, nor time for Plod anymore.
