So Waverley, the only part of Surrey not put into T4 at Christmas ( 3 MPs live there!) has now got a 60% rise in cases since..... Christmas

The pubs in Farnham and Godalming where absolute rammed by all accounts.

They are a very short distance from Aldershot and Guildford respectively.

Would recommend the Farnham pubs over Godalming though. Far more variety and no weatherspoons.

"2.4 million coronavirus jabs have been administered across the UK, the prime minister has said.

Speaking from a vaccination centre in Bristol, Boris Johnson said: "Today, I think I can confirm that we've done roughly 40% of the 80-year-olds in this country already.

"We've done about 23% of the elderly residents of care homes." [Link]

Good that the wheel are finally turning! To be honest though I'm a little surprised that only 23% of care home residents have been vaccinated! I guess it's the logistics of it all.

If the rather ambitious target is met and we have vaccinated all the highest risk persons in Mid-February will any restrictions be lifted ?
I very much doubt we will see any difference as the case will be made that it takes time for the vaccine to take effects, besides the initial phase, vaccinating all those with above average risk is not due for completion by March/April.What restrictions will be lifted at this stage?

We know there will be a phased lfting as happened in the summer and I very much suspect, hospitality will be at the back of the queue.I am not expecting to be able to enjoy a tipple or two in a Public House or visit a restaurant until at least the second half of the year.I cannot even escape to pastures abroad.
Depressing.

You may well be right. I would say that it's justifiable to say that we will open up in a major way a couple of weeks after the first vaccination (to allow it to take significant effect). I certainly see the issue though in that the goalposts can easily be moved to, 'after the second vaccination', or 'after the second vaccination has taken effect' and so on.

Various dates have been bandied about for pubs, April, May... but rationally if the vaccine does convey enough protection after the first dose in Feb and ITU admissions significantly fall we should then be looking to also limit the severe damage already done to our high street and small businesses. I know it's a tough needle to thread but so many are already on the brink..

Absolutely correct and it has been devastating for many.

However there are those who have doing well out of Lockdowns and restrictions and will wish them to continue for some time yet.In this respect I am thinking of those who supply masks, visors, screens, hand sanitisers etc etc etc.

Would anyone on Hol pay £3-8K per term to be 'educated' by Professor Chris fvck-Whiitty ?

Did anyone with a brain cell vote for BJ ? But was there any political opposition ?

We are swimming in a sea of morons, ...or rather drowning,...

There's two pubs in Farnham that show football. One is full of art students. The other is run by a Brighton fan.

Just so she's fully informed.

If she's in her 20's. I wouldn't move to either. Transport links are pretty s*** and not the place for young people. Try Guildford.

Thanks she would avoid pubs showing football! Although her boyfriend would be happy to go, an Everton fan. She is in her 20s and has a flat in Guildford however her and the boyfriend want to buy a house, anything half decent in Guildford is out of their price range otherwise they would be happy to stay there.
Do you know anything about Farnborough? Again many thanks

I remember being there when Concorde was being tested and the noise was incredible. Stay away from flight paths!
