Two reasons Sterling:

1. I was in hospital for a very, very long time during the whole vaccination roll out

2, I desperately want to go on holiday this summer, actually it will technically be my honeymoon.

Seemed fair enough to me.

Cool, just curious.

This is still very much up for debate. It's certainly flu strength for relatively healthy or non-susceptible vaccinated or pre-infected individuals. This current strain is not a direct derivative of the previous ones – the more I read the more the 'weakens as it mutates' theory is questionable in this current scenario.

Isn't that true for all viruses?

Flu is deadly for a percent as well.

When it comes to heart inflammation, you read one source and it says one thing and another says different.

I'm going to wait for the BMJ on it.

In terms of lockdowns, it's telling that inflation is now at a seven year high of 7 percent in the UK......obviously the sanctions over Russia are also going to play a significant role in pushing that much higher.

It's notable that Sweden's inflation, who didn't do lockdowns, is at 4.5 percent.

This is simple to explain it is something I have been saying all along they have not done any real science.

What they do is make up risk factors or association data which suits the current agenda.

Lockdowns should only be used if done correctly which the UK never did a proper lockdown to begin with for serious situations.

The countries which have not let the infection now flow are being hit hard which is not really a problem with the most dominate variant being the one which poses least threat adding some natural immunity is a very good thing.

If you were going to have a vaccine for covid, why would you wait until it's at flu strength?

I was hoping the person would use the reason as being they wouldn't touch the experimental versions and was waiting for one which uses traditional methods.

Unfortunately that was not there answer.

Not really

Obviously generalisation is useful on a thread but ‘flu’ and ‘viruses’ are not all the same.

Also, the take up for the annual flu vaccine is far lower than the rona one, plus the fact is it far less problematic… Equating CV with the common flu which most love to do is a misstep

Ironic that the mainstream media push the weakens as it mutates narrative

Utter rubbish.

I have had Delta and Omicron. My wife had Omicron. I know at least 30 people who tested positive with LFT which was then confirmed with PCRs.

My company makes some of them and they are very accurate.

If you mean non mRNA vaccines - they’ve been in circulation for a while…

If you mean Novavax style - plenty of ‘trads’ being worked on, if that floats your boat.

The biggest mistake anyone ever made was publicly designating vaccines as mRNA. To a layperson that’s no different to ‘DNA’ and ‘grab the forks and torches Gary, it’s hunting season’

Without the vaccines 1000's more would have died and the hospitals overwhelmed. The stats confirm that.

Virus's, in general do become less dangerous as they mutate.

Omicron is no where near as life threatening or life changing as the original variant.

Flu does kill people but its pneumonia that finishes people not flu itself.

Covid, has a number of side effects that can cause long term issues.

For the vast majority of those who get it they will suffer mild to moderate symptoms. But every 5000th person will end up in hospital.

Covid Hospitalisations have increased due to the relaxation of the rules. i.e no masks, no requirement to isolate.

It's 'their'.

I expected a far superior ability to spell basic words from a learned doctor such as yourself, I must say.

Some chose not to get vaccinated at all, or didn't for one reason or another that now make it an option (health, travel). Outside of that though, I'm not sure that 'pandemic' and 'waiting for..' are the best combination .

Vaccines for what? If you are referring to all vaccines 100% agree but not for the covid-19 ones.

Incorrect learn the difference between mutation and variant they are not the same thing.

If you want to play that silly game that this is what kills you off disregarding the cause

covid-19 does not kill you
cancer does not kill you
aids does not kill

Again showing you are an idiot.

Not a doctor I had pointed this out many times before I was involved in research for over three decades.

This comment sums up again another person who knows nothing about people in the industry doctors even researchers are terrible when it comes to writing this is why a lot of them do not even do any if they can help it.

All the senior researchers I worked with had either note taker or recorded them.

Typing quickly on a phone at times spelling mistakes happen this is not a professional setting people can understand its people like you who flag these up because you have nothing else to contribute most times its a defense mechanism because you feel small but want to show you are really superior.

Wrong again there!

It was only a joke. I'd of thought despite you being so intensely immersed in scientific research to disprove the theory of everything you might have noticed this.

However, I guess you thought this worth flagging and commenting as you clearly have nothing else to contribute beyond trying to fight your corner when there is an attempt at levity when it's clear you're talking b***ocks.

I'll refrain from making jokes about personal, uninformed ideologies in the future and will admit in thinking that this is 'not a professional setting' and therefore it was appropriate to do so.

Good one on the last joke though! I had dedicated my life to defending vaccinations and indeed the intellectual weight and evidence you have provided did make me feel small and inferior. My entire identity destroyed!!!!
