The alternative to the current liberal, I mean conservative government, would’ve been this. Probably something to remember…

The science would suggest that you're likely not protected against catching newer varients at this point (other than possibly in terms of severity). So not getting it is most likely down to luck and not coming into contact with it again.

Still, although you state you're in a high risk group, I would say that how it impacted you when you did have it is a sensible point to act from (as in if you'd been hospitalised clearly getting vaccined would be important), so I can't say I blame you for not bothering. I saw the initial safety net of vaccination as important, but this far down the line, for everyone but the most vulernable or impacted, actual catching newer varients would been to be a decent natural 'booster'.

Unlikely as I have my two boys constantly jumping all over me after school days since everything resumed.

I agree though that I'm likely to get covid again at some point. On average people catch the flu twice a decade even with natural immunity due to evolving variants.

Inevitable.....I'll keep an eye on developments.

Spanish security on public transport in Spanish cities aren’t hesitant in getting their books out to issue fines if you don’t have a mask or refuse to put one on. Well they need the fines for their wages and to pay for wasteful councils end government, don’t they?

I expect if we fast forward a year most of us will have had it again as older variants provide limited protection against contracting newer, but in a sense the more we catch new variants the broader protection there should be going forward.. At this stage unless it's particularly bad (hospitalisation, long covid-like) natural infect would appear to be inconvenient but useful! I can't see hopsitalisation reaching sky high levels , though appreciate that 10k in hospital with anything at any one time isn't ideal.

I'm sure the most vulnerable and impacted tend to opt for the vaccine anyway, and like the flu jab situation that should be good enough. Interesting that China is still trying to control Covid. They're partially 'suceeding' in keeping numbers low but since 90% of China's 1.4 billion people have been vaccinated they still appear to be putting massive effort into stuck into stopping spread. That is doomed to fail, and you'd think being that they've done all that can vaccination wise with a base of protection this would be the perfect time to just let it work its way through the population, to further boost protection. Instead it looks like they're doing the opposite.

It is curious what the Chinese are doing.

It appears pointless trying to stop it....perhaps they know something we don't as stupidity is hardly a Chinese trait.

God knows.

Probably so fixated on exanding the social credit system side of things and keeping the people in line, that it overrides all other considerations.

Low quality elites.

Or in other words, globalists serving the liberal world order, not their own individual countries as they were elected to do.

Hungary won't go hungry nor cold this winter as they overwhelmingly voted in social conservatives.

In today's world, serving your own country requires that you look after the needs of others. Being selfish is not an option for the many. Think of the consequences when everyone scrambles for scarce resources, rather than co-operate in sharing them. A few, like Hungary, can get away with it, but I expect they will pay a price in due time. Their kind of behaviour is never forgotten.

I fail to understand why, after more than 2 years of Covid experience, people still think wearing masks, respecting social distancing and even having lockdowns is only to ensure you, and others, don't catch Covid.

It just isn't. It's primarily to ensure the NHS doesn't get overwhelmed by trying to flatten out curves.

From all I hear the NHS is fast approaching a real crisis point, yet what I read here are the same old, "it's my body, my choice" arguments.

If we are asked to start being more cautious again, and restrictions are imposed, then it will only be for that reason. We will all catch variants, which most of us won't suffer from too much. It's when we catch them which matters.

Still can’t believe WE that you are discussing lockdowns as a viable option - have you really not learned anything from the past 2 years? Lockdowns decimated the economy, ruined children’s learning from missed school time and as we have proven do not work.

Please stop peddling this nonsense.

Continuing the destruction of the financial future of unborn generations is far more selfish than the individual making their own free health decisions.

Nice threat to Hungary there.....very neo liberal.....'if you don't suffer with us, you are against us'.

Not in my name.
