I think there is little doubt the Government(who had access to the biggest dataset) were extremely selective in what was disclosed to the wider public. My own personal experiences has seen close friends get very ill with Covid and one of whom had their cancer treatment delayed/re-scheduled because of the Covid impact. My friends were fortunate there were no longer term impacts. Others have different stories to tell, who were not so lucky. The biggest personal data gathering event ever to take place in the UK was a massive success. You,...where you work,...who your friends are,....where you socialise,....medical records,...tracking your every move by your own mobile phone. The Government has so much new data about everyone it has to be the most comprehensive census ever. Suck it up. Only if you were stupid enough to. I expect the government has full info on 90% of the BBS. They’re Marxists anyway so it’s kool comrade.

I won't adhere to a lockdown and didn't at any time anyway. My mates and my pub are the same - so I don't get heavily affected. My missus is full on anti-vax so no issues there. I will say - I don't mix with anyone who's worried about it. I respect their view, although I do not fully agree. I won't protest or anything, no way, just do my own thing.

The generation of variants is due to RANDOM changes with the virus' genome, this does not mean viruses get weaker just those that do not kill their host tend to survive longer survive. There is always scope for a more deadly variant round the corner.

It doesn't matter that's it's random, the reality of killing the host means that strain dies out quicker and so infects less than weaker versions. Your body, as does mine, contains multiple virus's at the very moment for that very reason. Tell me of a specific virus that was around for three years and then evolved into a worldwide deadly strain rather than a weaker one. It's possible just highly unlikely......the highly deadly ones tend to be new to the immune system. It tends to be one a generation from the respiratory types.....though this one was probably lab cooked. Edited by Stirlingsays (17 Jul 2022 1.31pm)

That was within its initial impact period.....which lasted under two years. Once it had killed off the vulnerable and immune systems adapted it grew progressively weaker. Spanish flu is still around today.

Or are they getting an infection but not getting ill? Are the media telling us or looking for headlines....don't know. I must admit other than this discussion I rarely look nowadays.

People still walking on empty pavements and driving cars masked up has to be the strangest thing going, and in this weather. Masked up from front door back to front door wherever they’re going and for however long. The sun marks would be great.
