There are a few posters whose posts are tedious to read but the one person who is head and shoulders in the lead for unpleasant and tedious posts isn't WE at all but someone far more self obsessed.

Even I don't bother much in this forum any more which is probably why there are some posts in this very thread that are deserving of a card but no card has been issued.

Funnily enough I find myself spending more time on the BBS where they aren't as tolerant of racist and bigoted posters

I think you might be wrong there.

Still, all the time you are a moderator here, you can think and do what you like. However, If you think the BBS is a better model for debate, then perhaps you should resign as a mod and spend all of your time over there.

If you are going to keep closing down threads based on your whims and bias then this section will soon become redundant.
That would be a pity.

I am supremely confident that if you were to take a straw poll of Hol users you would be proved catastrophically misguided.

Either way, grown men spending a significant amount of their time online bickering and squabbling - for this is precisely what it is, be under no illusion otherwise - really ought to have a good look at themselves. It is lame, lamentable and such an utter, utter waste of time. (Not to mention being tedious for others.)

By all means spend their time debating issues, if that's their thing - and the odd minor spat is always likely occasionally to break out - but to regularly engage in sniping, nit-picking, name-calling and even, on occasion, bullying is just tragic.

Someone on here (Jake D'eagle possibly) once offered a joke that works here. I won't give it in full as it is undeniably mean-spirited and poor-taste (though I would be lying if I claimed it's never made me chuckle), but anyone who knows it might agree...

A well written and enjoyably creative post as usual.

But come on...bullying over text? That's hyperbolic. .Arguing and digs on political forums are normality.

Perhaps you're just a bit too tarty to cope with it all. That's ok, no one is forced to engage.

However, those who push for the feminisation of discussion boards need to reflect upon the fact that their views aren't universal and that many other boards cater for them.

Wow.

If you are more comfortable with a more censored environment like the bbs, please tell Penge as we don't require another clone like that and you should be where you are comfortable.

Hol needs to be modded by those who agree with the owner on free speech.

As a longtime reader I can honestly say that the constant need to turn every thread into a race or ethnicity rant is pathetic, self indulgent and boring. You'd think in a pandemic there would be at least a slither of recognition for the situation we're all in, but no you're here whining and telling moderators to quit. Grow up. Get back on the topic at hand or sod off.

What a disingenuous plant with an obvious motive.

'Every thread into a race or ethnicity rant'?

Go back to the site you came from.

I agree, although I have never really wanted the US version of Free Speech. People should be able to, and indeed should, discuss why suddenly certain subjects are shut down. And I don't mean on just this site - I mean across much of the Western World - well, what's left of it.
The politicians have been ignoring people's wishes for a long time now. One thing I reckon is that people will tire of the diversity, sexuality and identity agenda, and dare I say business, after all of this. Nobody's buying it anymore - particularly when there are actual issues to think about.
