Sorry to hear that about your ma.
I'm sure she was a lovely lady and i hope you have some fond memories to help you all through this tough time.

Kindest regards
Cryrst

If Vallance’s former vaccine employer shares were £1 options then facking hell.

The guy is probably a multi millionaire so this is just nit picking at a time of national and worldwide crisis. No covid no problem as who would really care at any other time. I cant see that he would be in any position to pick a contender to be used. If it were this company then it would be because it's the best vaccine. If this company does a dud one his share value is shot to bits. It's his money helping the R and D for a vaccine. Move on I say.

(Facepalm) Seriously?

Or he’s threatened to walk or something and Cummings leaked this to the telegraph. Probably just as strange a thing to say but...

Did he just buy the shares or has he had them prior to covid. If prior to C19 then I want his lottery picks. If after then I hope the company gets
no where near the answer. Albeit morally any vaccine that works is where we want to be.

Thank you all for your kind messages. We may bicker on here but we care for one another

My mother was 92 and had dementia but was enjoying life and should have had at least a couple of years more time. Whilst COVID-19 didn't take her, the effects of it surely did. And this is much of the story of this pandemic. Largely people going just a little before their time and leaving a hole prematurely. Seeing such things first hand makes it hard to view the situation dispassionately. It is clear that many organisations have handled the situation dramatically better than others and the lack of sufficiently common approaches is heartbreaking. Many more would have been saved with shared best practices.

Only just seen this. Please accept my sincerest condolences, Maple.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

I went for a test yesterday (wife woke up claiming lots of symptoms and was worried about people she’d seen over the past week - not me I noticed). Anyway she rang up and we got an appointment at a drive in place 3 hours later. Got the all-clear messages back by 7 AM this morning which I thought was very efficient.
For anyone who hasn’t had the test it was very simple; you do it yourself, a swab in the throat for a few seconds and then up the hooter and done. The whole thing took just a few minutes.

From BBC

Some of the media are reporting a large increase in testing of children, Johnny has a runny nose it must be the virus.

The testing process is shambolic but it doesn't help if people are turning up because they have a cold and with the flu season about to start it is only going to get worse.

I guess the question to ask is do you need to get tested?
