Swedish people listen to the guidelines. Swedish people have a sense of community and respect for each other in their culture. Large parts of the country are also very sparse and have few large cities.

British people haven’t been listening for months. British people only give a sh*t about themselves.

I have witnessed comparisons between the approaches of our nation and that of Sweden.

The comparison is made with Sweden, the largest country in N.Europe with a population of just over 10 million and a low population density.

The UK cannot be compared to Sweden agreed.

We have over 65 millions compressed into a country that is really only a dot on the map.

All that space to yourself makes one very jealous of the average Swede.

We have heard that the intention is to return to the Tier System when the current restrictions end on 2nd December.

There might well be a return to the Tier System but I suppose it is feasible that the regulations within each tier could be altered so, for, example 'Tier 1' might not resemble 'Tier 1' prior to the current Lockdown.Time will tell of course.

The Tier system brings its own problems. In Scotland there is quite a bit of resentment that areas with a third of the number of infections of Glasgow are being put in the same tier. The, so far unsubstantiated, assertion is that Glasgow is being treated differently because it is a heavily SDP favouring area.

It’s started already. Be prepared to start losing your rights if you don’t have the vaccine.

Sweden has seen huge compliance with their infection control measures. Sadly, in recent months, we have seen the complete opposite. The two Countries cannot be compared in terms of deaths and infection rates, especially post June.

I find the objection to wearing masks inexplicable.

Over here we have a lot of experience having been through SARS, avian flu, H5N1 and now covid.

It's simple, any kind of face covering helps, masks are pretty effective. If you are constantly in close proximity to people who have Covid, i.e health workers, you will have a higher standard of PPE.

Anyone who just trots out some " masks don't work " Mantra is IMHO an idiot and part of the problem.

A beneficial side effect is the huge reduction in other illnesses such as the common cold which masks drastically reduce transmission of.

Asia generally has done very well with Covid using hard learned lessons and the public mask wearing as matter of course.

In Hong Kong and other cities in Asia many people wear masks out side when there is no pandemic as it makes sense anywhere with high density and pollution.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

At the beginning, the scientists in the UK kept asserting that there is little evidence that masks are effective and we were all permitted to enter supermarkets etc without having to wear one.We still had to socially distance in such establishments.

I have a 'Crystal Palace' red and blue mask which I wear with pride!

And then when masks became compulsory supermarkets increased footfall by 200%. Just replaced the best measure of social distancing with masks. Another reason why people won’t do things.

It's easy to talk about compliance when you have guidelines and not compulsion.

I repeat again, Sweden had 10 deaths yesterday and we had 595. Now, we are roughly six times larger population wise and I accept that due to population density a comparison would increase this more than six times.

However, it's wanton blindness to ignore the reality that Sweden didn't destroy its economy and civil liberties....it didn't force people apart from loved ones at their end or in greatest need, didn't keep people apart at funerals, didn't arrest people and use double standards at protests....didn't issue fines and treat normal people like criminals.

The actions of this government has seen suicide rise significantly and missed diagnosis of many life deadly illnesses.

Unemployment is a known killer and it's been pursued almost as a policy. Saw Sweden is different, however Johnson himself wanted to pursue its guideline policies at the start and I put it to you that had he did the outcomes would have been broadly similar.

Lockdowns only worsen outcomes overall, and even the WHO is against them.
