Yes, Croydon lads, they own an ice cream parlour in town.

Have a word mate: support your local team. Go and buy a red and blue ice cream.

Yes, didn"t know they were man utd, still, prefer that to Chelsea or Arsenal in Croydon, United or Liverpool are standard in any town, Chelsea in Croydon doesn"t wash with me, Sutton is their manor, all the battersea families moving to Rose hill estate back in the day.

Tow massive errors - Government and Indian border control - weak and unacceptable - should have done what the Aussies did - don't care if you are a UK citizen or not - you chose to go there so you stay there until we say you can return - that is down to the Government 100%.
However - having been allowed back why did everyone ignore the rules and infect everyone close to them?
That is on pthem and is the minority ruining it for the majority.
I would local lockdown affected areas now - they caused it so bloody well live with it - t***s!

Hate it all but at least with local restrictions Surrey has a chance of some freedom.

Exactly. Travel is a bit of a downer, but I'm sure seaside towns and the like are happy to be getting bookings in place of the usual far flung affairs.

For businesses and mental health it's important to get out there now that the most vulnerable have been vaccinated. Those waiting for the 'perfect moment' to start living life will be waiting an eternity.

Rather than keep the restrictions for another month surely it would be better if the worst hit places with whatever variants we are on to now stay restricted so that the rest of us can carry on unrestricted. Saying that this whole thing has dragged on for so long I don't even know what the restrictions are anymore.

Should be no need for lockdown's anymore even if cases do rise again. What's the point of having a vaccine if we all get told to stay at home? Severe waste of money and medicine.

Well that was a shock - Johnson not keeping his word and extending lockdown. Ok for the G7 to meet with no social distancing, masks etc but extend lockdown for everyone else.

Why does Florida or Texas not get a mention- no SD, masks etc and full venues for sports but low case rates and deaths?

With Johnson and Hancock this will never end...

Met my first anti vaxxer yesterday in a pub watching the football.
Not sure that he and I will be talking again anytime soon.
Freedom of choice means that you don't have to have one but his reasoning for not doing so was absolutely bonkers.
He also laughed and said that "you lot" are keeping me safe by having yours so why should I!
I asked the Landlord to ban him - he laughed - so I won't drink there whenever I know he is in.

A genuine question- what reasoning would you have been happy with? Thanks

Those frauds presented percentage increases rather than numbers for full effect, and because the numbers are so low. Problem is there are so many innumerate, thick or gullible fools around lapping this shyte up and complying.

It was an aspiration. Just 4 more weeks.
He did say that we will have to learn to live with it, which I read as him firing a shot across the scientists broadside that this is it. July 19th we open up. The unlimited weddings is a blinder as there will be no excuse not to isolate if a positive test is found. Everyone will know someone else. I can see a lot of fines being handed out to non conformers and good on that one.

Can you explain your weddings point. Are they going to test every wedding guest after a wedding and how?

And the fines to non conformers point you seem to be enjoying, while livelihoods suffer to protect people who don’t want the vaccine and probably went to India or whichever at risk country.

No they can't rudi but if someone tests positive then all the guests need to isolate and get a test. It is precisely what people haven't been doing.
I don't think the India variant could have been avoided but this advice about travelling was exactly that. I said very early that people including the opposition seemed to want an A to Z handbook of do's and don'ts and cans and cants.
Hmg left it up to the adults in this country to decide. Clearly many adults have acted like spoilt little brats and we are where we are because of that. Yes if wedding goers break the rules on isolation they deserve fining. Sadly it has been selective so as not to upset certain groups and political persuasions. I feel for people out of work and suffering but more so for the families of the dead and the 100s of 1000s with long covid.
The big picture is preservation of life; not holidays and nights out.

You have more confidence in the liar Johnson than I do Cryst - I am sure I read somewhere that every fine given out, when challenged, has not been upheld which is good news.
