Before I was born so first I heard of it.
Having kids myself it seems unimaginable.
Still RIP x

Slightly OT, but if you're every around Croydon cemetery there is a dedicated memorial to the boys and 2 teachers that died.

That can never be OT Becky.
If I'm in the area I will pay my respects.
Thank you.

I don’t get what draws these foreign supporters groups who haven’t that connection to a club. They meet up in pubs at strange hours to watch the games, okay it must be a good social thing, but why palace?

Back in the nineties I was in the Wetherspoons opposite Thornton Heath station before an evening game and struck up conversation with a guy from Denmark. He explained that watching Premiership football was his passion and that he'd settled on Palace because it was the only conveniently located club where he could get (and afford) a season ticket. (Wouldn't Newcastle be easier?)

We have a supporters club in Norway, in the early sixties a plane crash caused the death of students from Lanfranc school in Croydon, there has been a connection ever since, i remember the crash, some of the lads who died lived close to me

Croydon crem.has a memorial for this to the left of the main drive , as you approach the crematorium.
Very moving.

I would think as well as directly around selhurst the majority of our supporters will come from the south side as it's always been the biggest club in the vicinity

no family ties to the palace location and my dad hated football, just simply that a teacher at my secondary school in cranbrook kent, He was a palace fan born in croydon and took me and a mate up to selhurst for games. good chap actually. that was in 1976, I was 15 then. that was in simpler times as it wouldnt be allowed now etc. been going ever since and ST in the arfur.
