I'd be interested to see what people think on this subject.

For me it would be.

Benteke (form and wages)
Sakho (fitness/injuries and wages)
Meyer (won't play enough/lightweight for prem and wages)
Luka (past his best)
Hennessey (liability/little confidence in him. A young hungry option preferred).

Oh and Wilf, of course (he's going anyway)

Sakho and Hennessey are the only ones I can agree with. The rest have all proven they have their uses and aren't worth scrapping especially with a board so reluctant to bring players in

Reality is we’ll take good money for any of them because we don’t get lots of interest in many of our players for several reasons and the owners want the money.

Reasons:
Players’ ages
Wages
System they play in and it’s rigidity.
Our team is a unit and nobody stands out or will look much better than anyone already has or worth the wages, age, transfer fee.

The one that stands out is Guaita. The time to sell Luca was when Everton were sounding interest at £20 mil but we didn’t see his form dropping or him having already reached his peak and got scared of losing him. Not knocking it because it’s a difficult thing to time right but that’s how it looks now. Unless Luca does some real soul searching his best days look behind him.

Basically agree with you Rudi. Our team is more than the sum of its parts and to be fair that is down to RH and the way he has them working for each other.

Having said that I wouldn't be unhappy if Sakho were to go (wages and injuries). Whilst I might want to see some of the others mentioned depart I would want to be certain that younger replacements were in first. However, I expect the youngsters we do sign will be along the lines of Scott Banks, namely, unproven, not expensive and us probably having to wait a couple of years or so to see if they will be good enough to make the first team bench.

PS Just hope no-one comes in for Guaita this summer but I'll be surprised if no-one does.

You're right, why bother having a forum to discuss anything at all?

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

The players in the opening post have been here for quite a while and have not been producing or playing for quite a while, costing a serious amount of money. Ayew had been at the club not even a year and without a pre season. He was useful for a squad member and cost as much.

Nobody has said they hate anybody. These are the weekly wages for the following. Are they really providing value for money. These salaries are a massive drain on the club's finances.

Max Meyer £125,000
Christian Benteke £120,000
Mamadou Sakho £100,000

How about we have a vote to see who we can offload off this forum ? There is plenty of people I can think of.

There is a site called miserablesods.com that im sure a lot of you would be welcome on.

Only one person on here that's a miserable sod pal and it ain't me. If you don't like the discussion, don't get involved. Simple.

In any such vote, I suspect that I will be top of the pile! Rest assured, I would depart gracefully with no ill-feeling.!

I am certain that my dear wife would conclude that I am ideally suited to the website in question, especially after a defeat.

I'm not sure how much Roy has to do with the transfers and my guess would be very little
