I think they should finish the season now and basically place every team by averaging the points accumulated from their last three results.

Does that relegate Brighton? If yes, yes.

I still think we should finish this season next season.
There is a possibility, some think probability that we will end up with another corona virus lock in later in the year/next.

No point scrapping a season, starting another to then have to scrap that.

Recommence all leagues in August/September and hopefully we will be able to finish it before another break. If there is no need for a break, then I would suggest splitting each division into two. For the Premier League, Palace would be in a division of 10. This could be seeded with bigger and smaller teams in each league. Gives you 18 games. The top team from each league gets automatic champions league spot. 2nd and 3rd go into play-offs. Similar thing at the bottom.

We finish this season and have a shorter season next year. Would seem to be the fairest option all round.

If not I see this happening again next year.

Interesting story about Jonny May's transfer from Leicester to Gloucester today. He goes on the 1st June if the season ends or not. Any attempt by the league or club to stop it would be against the law.

This will probably make it impossible to extend the season for both sports.

Clubs wont be able to stop players leaving and wont wont to open up the transfer window during the last few games of the season.

Any big money signings are likely to get slaughtered in the media.... but this is football after all.

Bread and circuses - the powers that be would love us locked in watching the footy all through May or June - two games a week for five weeks and it's done, if staggered it would be non stop televised footy - circumstances may prevent this, but they want to keep us happy and docile and finishing the season this way would suit their purposes.

Or in better Roman style we could use Wembley as the Colloseum and teams could fight it out Gladiator style. We're quite a big side but we could do with Clint Hill, Derry, Paddy, Jedi and Delaney back. We would certainly win then.

Gladiators? I'd rather see Paul Pogba or anyone who plays for Watford FC take their chances against a half starved adult lion or two.

I think non-league clubs have been done a massive dis-service and the Premier League is showing its true colours.

With non-league football, none of the clubs representatives were contacted or asked for opinions on completing the season.
Lower Leagues had their season stopped (with teams fixed in their positions), except that promotion and relegation were cancelled.
Non-league football generally relies on gate money of crowds from 300-2500 people. Some clubs spent big in pre-season to try and achieve promotion, whilst others seemed to accept relegation as a possible outcome.
Non-league clubs are denied having Champions or relegated teams.

The opposite is true of the PL and EFL. They have held lengthy talks with sponsors and club officials to find a way to complete the season "at all costs"

I still fail to see how this could be achieved. League matches attract crowds from 1500-50,000 people, plus associated stewards, police and emergency medical services.

Aside from the fact I would love to see Liverpool fail to get the title this year, I think the whole emphasis (in particular in the PL) is slanted towards finance.
The rush to get some kind of validation for Liverpool to get the title, just grates with my humanist instincts. There is no way to play in front of significant crowd numbers, without significantly raising the level of risk to the public.

If Liverpool get the PL title (not that they weren't the best team by a country mile), it will be a hollow victory, based on financial impetus at the top of the game.

Make no mistake, many lower league clubs are at serious risk of going bust. Prioritising getting Liverpool the title just doesn't sit easy with me.

Well that's one thing we agree about.

EPL might consult UEFA to make sure it doesn’t affect the next champions league qualification.

Talk of points per game, fairest way if cancelled. Bin dippers champions and the rest with same equation although in holland not even champions, just void, end of.

UEFA have 'darkly hinted' that any nation leagues that cancels season would be liable for non entry into next seasons UEFA competitions.

This could be fun.
