To top it all they have one of the largest underground nuclear bunkers in the country there which is fully kitted out to broadcast news in the event of war. They are a dinosaur and along with those working there relics of the past. It is time to move on from funding their lavish lifestyles and their political bias. Defund the BBC. I couldn't agree more.

OMG a company has meetings where they probably bring people from all over the country in a hotel? Who would have thought. Having all those people in the same place for a long period of time probably working from early in the morning to last thing at night. There is no way that could be more productive than people all travelling on packed trains to a meeting that has to start at a time to allow them all to get there (probably tired after an early start) then finish so they can all get home. Big corporates fly people all over the world to attend meetings. It's no different or is it the case that anyone working in the public sector should be treated differently?

Seriously this is the BBC top management they are based at London or Manchester there can get together at one of those locations. As for corporates doing the same thing I agree it's a joke. One year we didn't get a pay rise yet the senior management across Europe spent a week in Barcelona in a top hotel, 80% of whom were based in London so why not hold it there. Anyway the point is that the BBC complains about funding but always seems to find money for shindigs like this, and what exactly were they discussing that was so important? Who knows.

Pay rise? What's that? Pretty much every civil servant across the land has had a real terms pay cut for the last 10 years or so. I actually still don't see anything wrong with a lot of meetings in places outside the big cities as you could get a decent conference package for probably cheaper than say a Travelodge in Central London. And if you use these hotels and effectively make there no where else to go people probably work longer and maybe harder.

They can't help themselves yet another one sided report from the BBC. ""Black Lives Matter: 'Backlash has been divisive like Brexit'"" The title says it all "divisive" and I agree it has been. However what follows is interviews with 5 people all of whom appear to be supporters of BLM. Where are the BAME people who want equality but don't agree with BLM? Where are the white people who disagree with BLM? If you are going to do an article like this you need to put other opinions rather than just one side. On second thoughts the BBC is correct this is just like Brexit they only ever reported one side of that as well. Edited by Badger11 (01 Aug 2020 7.30am)
