Thanks for the plot spoiler, I wont bother to watch it now I know the ending. But to be fair the last one I saw was Moonraker so I expect I am a bit behind anyway

It could well be a redundant conversation anyway. James Bond died at the end of the last film and for most of it's run time 007 was played by Lashana Lynch.

Never understood the appeal of expensive watches. If it looks ok and keeps good time, it is a bonus if it is inexpensive.

You could say that about almost everything as a Porsche or Ferrari will get you from A to B just as a Lada will

In the 'honeytrap' killings this week the victim, not a criminal, was trading rolex watches.

Why anyone would place such value on such an item I don't know, ok a good timepiece, so what my Casio £15 is just as effective they only tell the time.

A tragedy if that was the motive, there doesn't seem any other.

And a diamond is just a hard piece of glass. Some people like to enjoy themselves and if they get pleasure from owning a watch then why not?

One could say that about almost everything but not everyone wants to pare their lives down to the absolute basics

I have both.

I wear my Casio which I love when abroad so not worth nicking and don't care if I lose it.

I also have an Omega watch, it is the only jewellery I possess, last time I looked it would cost about 5K to replace although I think I paid £400 back in the Eighties for mine.

So Macron's luxury £2k watch isn't very luxury I would say £10k minimum before you could call it that.

watches are like an intelligence test. If you are dumb enough to blow twenty K on a watch.....you have too much money and not enough brains.

Ingvar kamprad was worth 1.5 billion and he drove an old Volvo. Genius

Anyone worth £1.5 billion metaphorically loses more than £20k down the back of the sofa.

Tim Martin of Wetherspoons goes to City meetings not only scruffily dressed but carrying his documents in a supermarket polythene bag (or he certainly used to).

Watching the news yesterday and much of it was about King Charles visit to Germany.

When will he stop being referred to as King Charles and just be referred to as the King as whenever the late Queen did something she was always referred to as the Queen and not Queen Elizabeth

I suppose you earn that respect. Well one does or the Royal 'we' does. It takes a bit of getting used to as well. I find the National Anthem a bit strange presently.
