BBC redundancies

I can't believe the incompetency of the BBC. They have managed to upset their staff by asking for voluntary redundancies, never a good idea.

If you are good at your job and wanted by other employers it's a gift and an incentive to move. If you are not great why would you volunteer knowing you might not get a job as good again.

To make matters worse the BBC is saying it's not guaranteed volunteers will get it.

"A BBC spokesperson said: ‘This isn’t about any new job cuts - it’s a standard HR exercise relating to savings we’ve announced previously - and it’s not targeting any individuals; we have to send it to everyone who’s at the same grade. We’re looking for expressions of interest in redundancy, not offering it, and it’s not the case that any or everyone who came forward would be accepted.’ "

So basically they have decided to upset everyone rather than target people.

It is far better to lance the boil, identify the useless and the overpaid and tell them the bad news.

Sigh.

Longer standing employees won't go for this because the BBC was one of the last to stop Final Salary based pensions.

Exactly and some of them would be the people you would want to leave as they are too expensive.

Redundancies are horrible but if you are looking to cut costs just get on with it and take the pain. This is pussy footing around and will upset the people who are not in any danger.

400K + for a newsreader is beyond belief

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

BBC London has now described those complaining about the ULEZ extension as being made up of right wing activists.

This is getting utterly ridiculous. As soon as you have legitimate concerns over a policy that has very little support and is being actively challenged by local authorities and County councils you get called right wing. It is completely wrong and the BBC are totally out of order for publicising it as such.

There are a lot of very angry people in areas around the fringes of London at the moment and we all know that the installation of cameras is Khan’s first move in charging any movement within the London Boroughs within the M25 by the mile.

Khan's so called consultancy poll was overwhelmingly rejected so is he branding the majority of Londoners right wing?

Yes - just read this.
So the BBC - our national broadcaster reports something but makes the point of saying that many protestors were right wing and conspiracy theorists - hmm.
Piss poor reporting is that - not even reporting as such - just a biased media outlet doing what they do best - talk s*** and back a left wing Mayor who doesn't have a clue what he is doing!!
