sorry to self indulge but if memory serves Izal (and possibly Bronco) had a reverse side without the branding that was a little less shiny with a more fine-grained roughness (to the obverse) which improved matters slightly, or am I wrong?

I have to admit that I have no recollection of using Izal or Bronco and I cannot provide you with a definitive answer. What I will assert is that your post reminded me of the different surfaces on each side of a Table Tennis bat,a game I haven't played for many a year. Returning to toilet paper, I am no expert as to the various brands currently available and the differentials in quality and texture.IF companies do not manufacture the more coarse brands of yesteryear this of course might be due to the advancement of modern technology.
