Possibly, but call me old fashioned, if you set yourself targets and consistently don't meet them, you should probably expect a bit of heat.

Watching the news at lunchtime it seemed that the BBC were wetting themselves with the prospect that the Government were going to miss their testing targets giving them the opportunity to put the boot in once more

When people say 'science' often they mean 'material evidence' and they are not exactly the same thing - science may involve many different interpretations although the consensus around global warming is somewhat unanimous now, and the scientists this govt are using are anonymous, and offering different advice than other countries' scientists. From my understanding, limited obviously, it's that underpinning a lot of fields of science are not base facts or knowledge but an underlying mystery, with immunology for example the mystery is when the immune system recognises a particle as being 'self or not self' - all the data gathered establishes when that point is in a particular circumstance, but 'self or not self' is the underlying unknown or mystery that needs to be solved, so it's not so simple as saying they 'followed' the science - that's a clever cop out based on most people being blinded by science, although there will be a point when the a particular reaction to a particular antigen becomes established, but many theories and opinions will compete until that point is reached. There will be different schools of thought in epidemiology and virology based on how viruses at act different scales, individually or in groups, or whether virions' activity is triggered by genetics or other aspectas of physical structure or dynamics. And it's a new virus so there won't be one scientific view, there never is, only a consensus, some of which will become out-dated.

Science can never be grouped as more right than wrong. Every theory has to be taken separately.
That's science. Sherlock said that line about impossible so your theory sucks because it's not impossible that the uk took the right course.
You shouldn't conclude as result until the end of the game. Of all team supporters you should know that. This C19 game has just started.

When did they say they would have 100k tests.
It was a goal, an aspiration. They got close but not good enough for some, besides what is the point. Half these people who test positive will still go shopping or for their daily exercise. Our liberty bull crap. Distance has proved to be the only way to break the chain.

Like they did with 'Panorama', the 5 'expert' frontline nurses & Dr's were, in fact, ardent LABOUR supporters, fundraisers & activists.

As explained on the BBC thread.

What do you expect? Journalists will always look to criticise. As politicians, you have to try and give them as little to criticise as possible, and this government is failing spectacularly on that front.

In recent years, the Tories have got used to making promises with absolutely no interest in whether or not they're feasible. That's one thing if it's putting a number on a bus. But when it's protecting the lives of doctors and nurses fighting a pandemic, it's a little more serious.

If punk ever happened I'd be preaching the law, instead of listenin to Lydon lecture BBC4

They’re testing key workers. Most of whom will be off work but do t know if they have it so don’t know what to do.

So labours plans were feasible then if that's a word I can cherry pick. Do you honestly think if labour were in power now we would be in a better place. State workers yes. Private companies I dont think tbh.

As usual, you manage to spout pure twaddle born from your own personal bitterness.

The government have done what they said they would do and we are past the peak.
We are the most densely populated country in Europe thanks to Tony Blair and yet our death rate is comparable to Europe allowing for inconsistency in gathering data.

As usual, the radical Left manage to make themselves look like complete tits.

There are so many ribald anagrams that seem possible from Sir Keir Starmer. Arse and rim are certainly there.
