Yes, sport is just another con, as with everything else in life, those celebs taking the place of a real fan who wanted to see the game and not just a photo opportunity for instagram.

Politics and sport have never been comfortable bed fellows, yet always seem to be hand in hand.

Nothing to see hear plenty of politicians and celebs blag freebie tickets for major sporting events. I don't like it but there will be probably be more Tories doing it than Labour simply because they are the government. The biggest blaggers of all are UEFA and their corporate chums. I expect there will be a few EU mandarins in there as well.

A friend went into the original ballot and got tickets either for the final or the semi final. This was back in 2019 when they relaunched the competition he was told sorry due to social distancing you've lost your tickets which were near the Royal box.

He knows roughly where he would have sat and every England game it's been packed with celebs and probably corporate blaggers. So he got bumped for the great and the good.

I wasn't being specific enough about the point I was really getting at.
Starmer in the past week was mumbling something about Covid restrictions being lifted too early and that things like mass-gatherings (football matches, tennis) should not be allowed
It'll be mildly interesting to see if the TV cameras pick him up in the stands of packed celebrities

"The facts have changed", Rishi Sunak

Dead man walking. Literally nobody cares what he does. He should have an affair or something to raise his profile.

After recent by election, claimed Liebour were back, having narrowly scraped home by a few hundred votes.A huge liebour majority wiped out, given that vote took place days after wa#ker Hancock's indiscretions.
Sir Quiere is a dead man walking and he is the only one who cannot see the hopelessness of his laughable leadership.

George Galloway is challenging the result in court I believe.
They might still lose it.

While Corbyn never held back and was essentially always in activist mode (which was itself a problem) I feel like Starmer goes too far in the other direction for the most part, and too circumspect and a pretty much a political non entity. He may well be a decent guy, but that doesn't really cut it in modern politics. That said I'm not entirely sure who they could replace him. Andy Burnham perhaps at least does appear to have wider appeal.

I like Jonathon Ashworth, might have a small wager on him, always comes across as a decent chap.

Ernie Bevin would do a better job even though he has been dead for 70 years.

I don't doubt that Starmer is a cerebral chap but my word he as 'Wooden' as one of Bjorn Borg's old tennis rackets.

Sir Keir is just playing a waiting game.

Waiting for anything that resembles a policy.
