Inevitably some group will proclaim Starmer is exhibiting cultural appropriation which offends someone or other,....

He was walking around Scotland today connecting with young people - so he didn't wear a jacket and tie, just the rest of the suit. He's cool, he's down with the kids. I think his second main slogan was let's fight climate change together. The first was entirely forgettable. Something about strong values or something. He must think he's in the Green Party. Someone tell him what Labour is please. He reminds me of a flustered local Councillor who wants bins put in the Matalan car park.

It’s like he’s a secret Tory agent. Maybe he is.

He is appropriating the look of a garden gnome. It's unacceptable.

I still foresee a Labour split, there is no common ground for Starmer factions and Corbynista factions except the desire to hang on to taxpayer funded head in trough job, which is a powerful incentive.

Looking forward to the Rayner-Butler attacks on Starmer at the conference, could be farcical theatre

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

The problem for the Left is that due to our FPTP system, then any split leaves to chasing its tail. If we had PR, Labour have split ages ago. But as it is, Labour still represents the only genuine chance of electoral success for the Left in this country.

Lets not forget that a Corbyn led Labour party back in 2017 pulled in 40% of the vote. And I am convinced that if Labour had not embarked on its suicidal second Brexit referendum policy, Corbyn could well be PM now.

Ignore the likes of Dawn Butler. Not even a second rate politician. Beyond poor. Rayner is a different kettle of fish and has the crucial TU backing but the truth is that despite the grumblings from the Labour left, they will fall into line.

Something odd is going on. Blair has been making very orchestrated moves in the media which does seem to indicated that he might be looking to make a move back into the political arena.

Also, Starmer's new Chief of Staff, due to take up his role in September, is linked back to the old Blair/Brown regime. Always a crucial role and an appointment that speaks volumes about the direction a leader is intent on following.

I find it very odd war criminal BLair and his Goebbels Alastair Campbell get so much air time.

Absolutely no mea culpa for taking the UK into an illegal war with sexed up documents presented to Parliament for a vote

Blair is on gravy train Europe/UN - he won't be interested in Commons politics, except to get the odd dig in. Not enough money in it.
