Point taken.....but we certainly need to do something.

The Portsmouth idea, at first glance, looks sensible.

Would you buy there? Sea levels rising, do you think it’d be there in 50/70/100 years? These land reclamation schemes would appear to have an expiration date.

It's not as though they build it and then just leave it....I'd imagine it's a gradual process.

People need homes....we had a housing crises twenty frigging years ago.

It's already being explored on a smaller scale in Portsmouth and probably in other areas too.

We mostly do it in this country to try to mitigate coastal erosion, by putting back what gets eroded. For all the talk of a bridge from Wales/Scotland to Ireland, why not just fill the ocean with dirt and have a service station in the middle too?

A good idea, though with how long our projects take on average the whole thing might already be under water by the time they get going

A fair Tax system would be a good start. Tax is paid on any salary above £9,516 at 12% (NI)then an addition 20% (Income Tax)once you earn more than £12,500 make total tax of 29.60% above £12,500. A person on minimum wage of £8.72 per hour and working 36 hours per week would earn £16,323 pa and be paying tax & NI of £1,139.46 pa. Any additions earning such as overtime for every extra pound would keep 0.704.and remember they are on minimum wage.

Sounds like good motivation to concentrate at school.
