You'd be surprised, but he has done a reasonable job.

Why would I be surprised?

Sorry actually, probably a bit of a more private and subjective opinion being expressed there.

He does have his flaws is probably what I would say but then don't we all!

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

PM me if you like. It surprised me when he got the job at Barclays. Much bigger scope than his role at Andersen/Deloitte.

Ah, interesting!

I only knew him from role a Chief People Officer onwards from working with Cabinet Office but got many an anecdote, riddled with military metaphors, about his time with Lloyds at least! Not to mention the surprising amount of his pals who rocked into the Civil Service after his appointment.

Would definitely PM you, however may not be in my best career interests to carry on the discussion (you never know) lol Would be an interesting convo no doubt!

Don't worry, not seen him since Aviva and don't talk to him any more. Like I said, how on Earth a comp specialist went to head up HR in one jump I don't know.

Indeed, have of course seen his Linkedin profile before, when first pointed in his direction had a quick peek and did question the leap to HR myself.

The handing over the country to Cummins by Johnson is very like the hand over of Germany to Hitler by the Chancellor Von Hindenburg.

Whereupon he immediately snuffed it.

We are waiting for Johnson to deliver on the second part...............

Is correct.

The Civil Service often succeed in spite of the circumstances they are placed under but no commentary ever covers this.

Ignorance around the CS, it's personnel and workings are generally quite shocking. I include myself in that statement before my dealings with the Public Sector over the last x amount of years.

Indeed. Civil Servants have always been an easy target. Media don’t help, fuel the perception of “chaps” in bowler hats sitting around drinking tea. Pay has pretty well been stagnating for years (no public sympathy because see above)

Port Laureate more likely.

I'm still waiting for him to tell us he led the storming of the Iranian embassy back in 80.
