You may be correct I'm afraid. But what could have prevented it. Maybe a lesser lockdown but with that the deaths could have been much higher. No one knows the answer yet. A little bit of hope is small reports on hospital time being reduced for admissions. Basically some who would need ventilation 6 weeks ago now need oxygen and out in a few days. Maybe this bug is weakening its strength as most viruses do once theyve done their thing.

YT : The fact is they can recall me at 24 hours notice anytime between now and July,so thats the difference
between Furlough and holiday. Its not a big issue in the scale of things I know with so much job uncertainty. But my point was I was told outstanding holidays could be carried over for two years ,but they are now saying I have got to take them by July .But realise we are in difficult times and its give and take. Not being ungrateful but just asking advice Thanks again

The last 2 months on the roads have resembled a Sunday in the ‘80s. Life for quite a lot after furlough will resemble the 1980’s. But some think easing of lockdown and furlough is too soon, and are scared to leave the house.

For those who know redundancy is coming it will be a worrying time, but the longer this goes on, the worst it’ll be, and mainly for those job seekers.

I thought it was 48hours but maybe horses for courses. I think this was brought in to stop people either starting another job or going away (difficult atm but furlough might be used once this C19 has gone for other unforeseen reasons)

I've been saying for a while on here that we are about to undergo another industrial revolution and that millions of jobs will be replaced by automation. I very much suspect that the moment has arrived quicker than I anticipated.

BA for instance has been trying to shed jobs and lower salaries for years they are already leaking that thousands of jobs will now go. Other firms I am sure are just waiting for the first few big hits and the bad headlines before they start doing the same. Or as someone once said it's a good day to bury bad news.

I hope I am wrong of course.

Microsoft are sacking 50 journalists as they don't need them, they will use AI instead. This is my point the jobs under threat from technology are no longer the obvious ones.
