Actually a disillusioned Brighton fan:

"As for the footy, I'm going to try to ignore it. I'm expecting that Brighton will be relegated but, given that I won't be allowed back in the stadium next season, I'm not sure I'm that worried. I'm angry about the entire escapade and it's brought it home to me that the premier league is really all about the money and not the fans. The last straw for me was the club offering a discount on the season tickets for the games which we can't watch and at the same time giving us the opportunity of waiving the refund. In other words, the people who are losing their lives and livelihoods are being expected to subsidise a couple of dozen millionaire footballers who aren't working and refuse to take a pay cut. Effing livid!"

Well I wonder if that view is widespread and if it could be a game-changer.

I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything.

It's certainly very similar to what a couple of West Ham mates were saying to me, including them going down bit, I think they were happy with the league being finished so they wouldn't have to worry about relegation even though they deserved it.
I think Brighton supporters main problem with relegation is that they won't be able to watch their favourite team next season, whoever that is!

Couldn’t be happier for them! TBF I am not sure what else they could offer on S/T?

I don't see how us Crystal Palace fans can laugh at this.
The Seaweed fan's absolutely right.
Fair dos to Parish in his efforts to get it up and running again but if we're not allowed back in the stadium it's all just an artificial substitute.
You can try and soften the blow by convincing yourself the online version is the best and nearest to what we once had. But do you really think the powers that be are going to let 26,000 people back into the stadium anytime soon?
They're not, are they?

They could at OT, Man City, Spuds, Wet Spam, Arse, Villa & Noocastle at a push, as you CAN have 'social distancing'

Although it’s totally driven by money I can sort of see some point to finish off what they started this season in order to settle the final finishing positions and relegation / promotion etc.

However there’s zero flippin point starting next season without the crowds and in an empty stadiums! If the Budesliga is anything to go by the football will be very sub standard and so will the spectacle! The results will feel totally synthetic almost like some virtual tournament being played out on FIFA 20 that none of us can feel or be a part of.

Totally pointless (But will probably happen anyway because of the advance TV monies).

I largely agree with the Brighton fan. However, I'm sure they would feel better had they been doing better on the pitch this season. They are looking likely to go down, so this seems like a bit of sour grapes.
Really, it's the proper [I put proper because there are some Liverpool fans from Liverpool - a handful anyway] Liverpool fans who should feel the most aggrieved. I'm not going to shed a tear for them but imagine, by some absolute miracle (act of God), that we won the league but none of us could be there. Actually forget that, who cares

I agree with the Brighton fan. Also it's "funny" how the football powers that be can decide that the women's premier league had to end immediately, as did all men's leagues below the Championship. How is different treatment for men and women justifiable?

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

It’s not really a male / female issue, but rather one of money. Hence why all leagues that have no relationship with the men’s premier cash cow have been cancelled.

I think we’ll see for sports that are monetarily fairly gender equal (tennis and athletics spring to mind) we’ll see men’s and women’s restarting at the same time.

Yes, that was my point, in agreement with the previous poster who said that it was all about money.
