Patrick Harvie, co-leader of the Scottish Greens, says it is “reassuring” that the stabbing incident in Glasgow is not being treated as a terrorist incident, but it is still a "deeply distressing time for everyone involved".

The Park Inn Hotel was being used to house asylum seekers while their own accommodation was being refurbished.

"Without getting into speculation about any kind of connection, we can say Glasgow is a city with a long and proud history of welcoming refugees and asylum seekers," Mr Harvie told BBC News.

"It is also a city where there has been a strong desire to treat refugees and asylum seekers with decency. That hasn’t always been the case in the UK asylum system."

Mr Harvie claimed the way asylum seekers have been treated during the recent coronavirus crisis is "clearly well short of adequate".

The bloke is talking b****cks, still he is a green. Wonder how many asylum seekers stay in Glasgow?

I’d like to see his facts regarding coronavirus. Maybe he could explain then, why economic migrants have been travelling across the channel daily during the crisis. Total w***ker who knows nothing but wants to stoke anti government feeling.

Sky are reporting this happened because asylum seekers in Glasgow are unhappy with “poor food”, limited money being provided and “slow WiFi”.
Presumably WiFi was perfect in the war torn hellholes from which they’re fleeing.

It is thought the Park Inn Hotel is currently being used to house asylum seekers.

From a spokesman:

"There could be a number of motives for this. Obviously some people might think it is a terrorist incident because we've had a recent tragic event in Reading, but it might not be. It could be a domestic dispute, someone who is having mental health problems.
"It is about being open-minded to find out why this individual carried out this attack."

Open minded? What an absolute cnut! Everyone knows it was a terrorist and he killed 3 people.................didn"t he?

did you not read the memo ?

after a bloke goes nuts killing people....he is to be diagnosed 'mentally ill'.....not a terrorist.

And we will conveniently disregard all his internet surfing history about ISIS and all that stuff.

The point was, he wasn"t a terrorist, and maybe was mentally ill, maybe not, but it wasn"t a terrorist thing at all, probably territorial , but not terrorism, even the "left wing" press were panering to the rumours it was terrorism and 3 were dead, it was utter cobblers, just shows how quick the "right" are to jump on any incident and slot it in to suit their agenda, maybe they will have time to read their posts and be more cautious next time a "terrorist" incident occurs!

there is now a longstanding history of classifying terrorism as 'mental illness'

the bloke in the link below screamed Allah u akbar before killing a japanese tourist.

And the judge proclaimed him only 'insane' .

well, there seems to be a lot of insanity coming from the same places ? it must be something in the water ?

It must be a great comfort to the people he stabbed that their assailant had mental rather than ideological issues.

You never know what happened, maybe he was the victim of a mugging by the 5 on the stairwell and decided to seek revenge to get his wallet back, no point judging until you know what happened, thats all i"m saying!

Quite so. It's always been a personal dream of mine that when I am stabbed to death by a foreign nutter, it should be carried out in a purely secular manner.
