I’m not losing any sleep over that. Liverpool were awesome. In a completely different league. We were well and truly thumped by a remarkable team playing a remarkable system. I don’t even blame Hennessy. No keeper would have had three of them. Just accept it and move on. We are still ninth. Hopefully we haven’t got any long term injuries. Not sure about Wilf, but fingers crossed not too long. Still think we could make champions league but europa would probably be better.

Our pitiful performance made them look good, shameful!

You're right.

TAA, VVD, Salah, Mane, Firmino, Fabinho are usually just bang average,
we just made them look good!

Liverpool were exceptional, Klopps post match interview said it all. Yes we probably made a few mistakes and perhaps could have played a bit better but it's hardly something new. You do realise we're still the last team to win there.

Considering what we were up against I thought we played well. We never threw in the towel. We fought for everything. Ayew and Meyer even had a few deft touches. It’s just we were up against giants. Move on time. Next.

They were excellent and we were below par.
They smelled the fear and pressed us constantly and without Wilf as an outlet or Benteke as a target man it was always going to be very tough.
Hennessey proved that he is not up to the job albeit he has barely played this season - the free kick and his continued lack of being able to get down quickly to low shots means he should drop down a league as soon as.
We need huge investment in the Summer because I am not sure that Roy can do this again - he has done an incredible job this season.
A shame it was 4 but getting any result at Anfield was always going to be very tough indeed.

Sakho he had a good comeback. Played his usual high risk approach but some of his back heels were radical. Great to see him back and on form.

Simply not good enough .....no touches in the opposition box for 90 minutes and we mustn’t overreact. I am glad you are so relaxed about it, I certainly aren’t!

I refer you to last year. Played 'much better' to lose 4-3 at Anfield. Had our strongest squad out and liverpool didn't play half as well as what they did last night.
The stat you mention isn't good enough, but we were missing 3-4 big players. If this means Steve sees our lack of squad depth and does something about it, Roy will have made his point.
Plus if we beat Burnley on Monday and get back into European contention since Roy rested all our important players, what will last night moaners say then?

Was gutted last night but feeling better on reflection this morning. Number of factors that made it an especially sore one, firstly us being excellent at Bournemouth and Liverpool being average at Everton hoodwinked me into feeling like we were on for causing an upset. Couple that with them returning to full strength, us having to field a few starters we wouldn't have wanted to and losing our best player in the first few minutes made me feel very sorry for myself.
Add in 90 minutes of Carragher and the other commentator Dutch ruddering each other over Liverpool and you have a particularly unenjoyable watch.
For me, although not awful footballers, having Meyer and Sakho on over 100k a week is not sustainable at best, borderline a joke at worst. Meyer needs to play as a David Silva type floating number 10 which will never happen and if someone is willing to pay to take Sakho's wages off our books I think we need to snap their hands off now.
3 points against Burnley please.

Agreed! A shame re Meyer because he's one our young ones but I don't see how he fits into our system unless he can learn to keep the ball and not let the oppo bully him.

This is the important game for us. 3 points will put us 6 ahead of them whereas a defeat will see us level again. We need to focus on beating the teams around and below us.

He didn't smile at all in the post match interview I've just watched. He was honest about Palace's performance and said it wasn't good enough.
