Sadly, it is that bit that is missing in Wilf and it has prevented him from progressing to play for a top side. We have seen some wonderful moments from him, but we have also seen the regular strops and petulance. All too often he operates in victim mode,and rather than using his skills to redress perceived injustices, his shoulders drop and the sulks begin.

I think part of the problem has been that at Palace he has, for too long, been the big fish in a smallish pond, and what shortcomings he has have been indulged and tolerated by club and supporters.
