Don't. It is a disgrace to the name Crystal Palace.

Funny isn't it?

That's pretty much how I see this forum these days.

I don't use the BBS by the way. I don't like the format and have used the HOL for Palace related info for years.

It's only these threads which increasingly disturb me as some of the views being expressed here are way beyond the pale, yet the regular posters seem oblivious to that and do nothing to call out the worst offenders. If ever you lot wonder why people get upset by the attitudes of the right, go take a long hard look at yourselves for you represent all that is wrong with our country.

Don't worry yourselves, I won't be coming back anytime soon, other than to dip in from time to time to see if things have improved. Right now they are getting worse and the moderation appears to have disappeared.

Everybody's " beyond the pale " meter is different. YOu should give some examples. redacted of poster, to support this view.

I once on BBS ( without knowing his politics ) suggested Paolo di Canio as a good manager due to his passion and enthusiasm.

Holy Crap, I might as well have suggested trying to clone Hitler. The vitriol was quite something from the Tooting Popular Front

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

He needs to work on opening up those blm offices in Truro and giving up some of his white privilege.

The BBS is about clique power. It's a little club for arrogant, self important tossers. What you believe is almost irrelevant. If you are not one of their number and get too noisy, they will round on you like a pack of hyenas.

I don't actually know but I am resigned to a kangaroo court the blindfold and oblivion.

What did I do?

I just don't think Cummins did anything wrong.

In my humble opinion,I would far rather be the son of a father who drove me to the other end of the country to keep me safe than the son of a reprobate involved in defacing monuments, hauling down statues in an act of wanton vandalism and BLM thuggery.

That's a shame (genuinely) - I've been discussing with my kids how very important it is to avoid living in a political echo chamber, and how you'll learn so much more from people who disagree with you than those who agree. As long as the discourse remains civil, it's great

Problem is that there is increasingly little option other than to retreat into political echo chambers because of your own best interest. Because this discourse now impacts on almost every aspect of peoples lives now. Eduction, employment, housing, almost all and any segment of collective public life is increasingly being dictated to by the political mores of the day.

Don't hold the correct views, and unwilling to acquiesce to them, on a wide range of subjects and you find yourself being limited in terms of what you can do for living, where you can be educated and even social housing, because of how and why it is allocated.

If people refuse to adhere to huge swathes of Left-Wing Identity Dogma they are effectively cut out of access to an increasing range of services and opportunities. Essentially Apartheid based on thoughts rather than skin colour.

The Ministry of Truth is no longer an Orwellian nightmare, it is a reality.

But this is a political echo chamber where opposing voices suffer endless abuse.

Which is why the blind hypocrisy of complaining about the BBS is so amusing.

I used to think it was worth it for exactly the reasons you suggest but recently it has gone markedly downhill. Some of the posters here are beyond any reason or hope. They are therefore best ignored.

It is very regrettable but sometimes it seems necessary to accept that it is impossible to find working compromises and the only way forward is to go around people and their attitudes and not to try to work with them.
