I think we all hope that but the likelihood of it happening are close to 0. You need at least £20million to sign a half decent player these days. I’d be surprised if there’s much more than £10-15mil to spend there and we don’t need one new player we need at least 5 I’d say. We can’t even sell any of our squad for any decent money, unless somebody gets absolutely bladdered and offers more than £25mil for Wilf.

Correct , the shame is that without the Covid pandemic we would have had since March to plan and prepare for the Transfer window.
The break for the pandemic has now thrown all that into confusion with nobody sure of how it will affect the prices of players that you wish to buy or sell and we are still playing during the time we should be planning for next season.

It is the same for everyone but it would have been nice to see what we really had planned for a normal transfer window after a couple of seasons of stability.

The point about four wins on the trot before Liverpool is well made but doesn’t really answer the question about how the substitutions yesterday were designed to get us back into the game yesterday or indeed answer the other valid questions posed about Hodgson’s management on this thread.
If the only stat that matters is staying in the Premier League it says much about the state of modern football that a game we started playing as kids for fun and enjoyment has been turned into corporate, bean counting exercise with enjoyment being an optional side issue.

Forget '' modern '' football. It's always been about the money, there's just a lot more of it about at the top level of the game these days.

I don’t agree it’s always been about the money.
It’s off topic but I’m old enough to remember teams like Derby and Nottingham Forest winning the equivalent of the Premier League, of Villa and Nottingham Forest winning the Champions League.
Football is about dreams and glory as well as finance and at the end of a (rare) Palace victory I don’t go away thinking that will mean another £2million for moving up a place in the table.
I don’t know any fans that think this way.
