There is one extra step...say:
6A. Borrow hammer from neighbour then lend it to another neighbour without using it.

I don't have any evidence that he has "Lost the dressing room".

It was a dire, pathetic performance but perhaps what should be factored in is that with the frequency of games, this has caught up with our ageing squad.Privately I raised my concerns about this before the season re-started.

Good point Willo. It's nearly the transfer window, and it's not time to change the manager. We need someone who knows the squad and it's weaknesses, and can build a younger squad. RH has vast experience. Last year though. He should move upstairs or leave with dignity after next season

Spot on, bad day today which shows our lack of depth and a decent striker all due to Freeman/Parish not supporting Roy since he has been here. Kept us up on a shoestring budget for the last three season. If we got rid of Roy now who is going to come in and replace him as I suspect no decent managers who may be available would want to take on this team with a board who is more interested in selling us than they are about what league we play in!

1. Hit with hammer.
2. Decide hammer isn’t working.
3. Replace hammer with spare hammer.
4. Hit with hammer.
5. Second hammer doesn’t work: will Look at again tomorrow.
6. Complain the wife hasn’t given me enough money for the right tools for the job.
7. Wife gives me £50.
8. Study tools needed.
9. Decide to buy a hammer.
10. Decide new hammer won’t work, so employ use of old hammer.

This is the key for me... Parish should sell.

He doesn't have the funds to back Roy, or any manager.

Yes, the books now look healthy, but thanks to a large slice of luck unearthing AWB paying off a debt, however, wages are still high and the said players are not giving back a worthy return.

Roy has never been backed.. and after 3 years, roy should have a line up he is totally happy with - regardless of what we think or results.

This summer, I feel it's necessary to change managers - nothing too drastic, but it needs to be freshened up.

Zaha needs to be sold and that cash reinvested - there is no money coming from anywhere else

Players like Wickham, Benteke, PVA, Sakho, Meyer need to be looked at and if they work for the new managers ideas, great, if not, cut ties.

This was once a quality forum....

Any manager is only six games from his job being in question and Roy is no different. However, I don't see anyone plausible actually wanting the job other than someone after a quick payday.

The age of the squad and the fact that the owners wanted out even before we faced global economic slump are hardly a secret.

Thought the players looked tired and get the frustrations around Roy's reluctance to freshen things up but when the likes of Meyer and Riedewald are continually thrown up as main points of criticism it doesn't do much to strengthen the arguments against him.

Luka has looked particularly off the pace and it was notable McCarthy played instead of him in the three wins against Newcastle, Brighton and Watford which effectively saved the season.

Thank you for making me laugh when I was so p155ed off!

I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything.

There are supporters of course in a 'Hissy Fit' about today's dire performance and the dour football we have played this season sending us all into slack-jawed somnolence, however the fact is that Hodgson has kept us up for three seasons with hardly any spending and is trusted to do the same next season.

He has achieved his objectives and been offered an extension of his contract for this reason so any talk of him being jettisoned is without foundation. Even if we lose the next three games which will mean eight consecutive defeats he will remain in situ.

Guilty as charged. There is a tendency to assess while the red mist descends and that's not always the best time. At least we have enough points under our belt to stay up. Even though there's much to improve upon, that's something to build on and be proud of.

To believe that a manager who loses 8 on the spin is unsackable is very Palace. Anywhere else in the PL he would be gone. You like a good stat Willo who was the last manager to lose 8 or more games on the spin and retain his job?

Hodgson has to go, but at the same time the players do not look fit. It's actually a revealing time regarding their attitude and effort on the pitch, strolling around without a care in the world, mission accomplished, prem survival ensured and who else would pay them their salary rate? Life is easy at the Palace, I'm alright Jack.
Needs a change of manager and a sweep out.

Yesterday's performance was unacceptable on many levels.

The team selected should have been capable of so much more.

We weren't helped by VAR getting it wrong for Sakho's 'goal ' but seemed to lose our way after that. I also thought the refereeing was substandard.

I think it was one of the lamest performances I've seen since we got promoted. Passing and decision making were awful. Yes, there are a lot of games being crammed in at this time, but it's not an excuse. These experienced players together with the fitness staff should be managing that situation. Where we are of course lacking is having effective game changers on the bench.

Results you sometimes have to take on the chin. So the Chelsea result, while disappointing, at least you can say the overall performance of the team was decent. You couldn't say the same for the performances against Leicester, Burnley and particularly yesterday.

I have staunchly defended Roy on HOL, but this is a results business and we are staring down the barrel of 8 consecutive defeats. And I think that is indefensible.
